          KD is nowadays the best player in the world... I hope 2k22 will reflect that finally.

          I think this year I will purchase directly/only the next-gen version, I hope it will have good improvements comparing to 2k21 next and 2k22 current... TBH I am not too confident with them having to deliver two different games...

            Not liking the PC being grouped with last gen systems. I was hoping it’d be next gen. I like to relocate about seven teams in my league. I want to do it without enabling online saves cause I don’t want it lost when servers shut down. At least on pc there’s no relocation limit.

              Can anybody confirm the original nba2k22 will be cross Gen? Or do you have to get the NG bundle just to play with your friends on ps4? Because if that’s the case I think that’s a true RIP-OFF!

                That's like asking if the Xbox one version of 2k14 can play against the Xbox 360 version. It's a completely different game on a different system. How is that a rip off?

                    So, if 2k keeps with tradition, the cover athletes’ position becomes OP for that particular year. So, in other words, guards are about to get completely crapped on in 2K22. 🤷🏾*♂️

                      Doubt it will happen but I would love some kind of 75th Anniversary mode that has you replaying some of the best games and moments from the 75 year history of the league, similar to NFL 2k5's ESPN 25th Anniversary mode. Maybe I'm in the minority but I've always loved modes like this. I feel like these types of challenges are instead used for My Team and it's just not the same.

                        Thanks for response but checking their actual website it is a rip off.

                        The Standard Edition will be available for $59.99** on previous-gen platforms (PlayStation 4, Xbox One consoles, Nintendo Switch, and PC) and $69.99** on new-gen consoles (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S);
                        The Cross-Gen Digital Bundle will be available for $79.99** and grant players access to the Standard Edition across previous- and new-gen within the same PlayStation and Xbox consoles;

                        There been couple of games on the ps5/ps4 that are already cross Gen/play. Borderland / cod black ops to name of few. A standard edition for someone on ps4 just pays $59 in USA anywhere else a little more but the point is person on NG gets the same game can play with that person on the ps4 with any problems.

                        2K just splitting the cost to generate more money [emoji383] into their pockets. Business move I understand but as a consumer naw.

                          Came in to say the same exact thing, pretty much word for word.

                          They've used legends on the cover before with little discernable difference to classic play so I'm not exactly sitting around brimming with excitement, but I'll just acknowledge that if 2K were to get back on the special classic moments train, the 75th anniversary of the league would be a great time to do so.

                          I've always thought there was a classic situations mode out there just ripe for the picking. Like the Jordan Challenge but across multiple eras and perhaps just precise moments rather than full games each time.

                          1. Complete 13-point fourth quarter comeback with 2000 Lakers vs. 2000 Blazers (bonus for connecting on Kobe-to-Shaq lob, which could have a signature animation).

                          2. Score 25 third quarter points with Isiah Thomas in 1988 Finals vs. Magic Johnson and Lakers (sprained ankle limp included).

                          3. Complete Game 2 comeback with Dirk in 2011 Finals (beginning from when Dwyane hits that trey and celebrates).

                          On and on it goes. Get some custom commentary, custom animations (like how Jordan would shrug when you hit the 3-point threshold against Portland in 2K11) and you could have yourself a pretty epic standalone video game sports experience.

                            1000% with you and I think it could be a mix of moments and games. You list a few great moments but they can even do full games like score 81 with Kobe against the Raptors or score 60 with Kobe in his final game, with certain challenges or moments within the games. If they really wanted to they could even do bigger moments, like in the Jordan challenge, such as "come back from down 3-1 to the Warriors with the Cavs."

                            I remember ESPN 2k5 having 25 moments for the 25th anniversary. I wouldn't expect 75 moments for the NBA's 75th anniversary but I don't think it would be that difficult to come up with 75 different scenarios to play through. Some could even be as simple as "hit the game winning shot with *this player* in *this situation*.

                            It would easily be the most played mode for me. Something that's more engaging than a typical play now game but doesn't require the grind or time commitment of modes such as My Player, My Team, My NBA (My GM/My League). I always thought those modes were rather popular in 2k11 and 2k12 but maybe they don't think it's worth it.

                              I'm with you there. Though, I think one of the criticisms of the Jordan Challenge at the time was that once it was done, it was done (i.e. low replayability). But the fact it's still a fond memory for myself and others likely speaks to how sometimes it's about quality over quantity.

                              That said, I imagine such a mode would likely need to find a middle ground where the moments mostly involve teams already in the game. It's not too much of a hassle to turn the '89 Pistons into the '88 Pistons for an Isiah Finals moment, but creating the Jalen Rose Raptors from scratch for Kobe's 81 could prove problematic.

                              MLB The Show has a classic moments mode for individual players but it's almost always against modern teams. It kind of still works out because baseball is such an isolated sport (classic player vs. pitcher you can't recognize super well) but that obviously wouldn't translate in basketball quite as well.
