If they touch up the colors, arenas, and get a lot more face scans that will be enough for me.

I have a feeling the people that are upset are the same ones that didn't think next-gen 2k21 looked that much better.
Wait... that will be "enough for you"?? You're going to spend $70 for a game that touched up colors, arenas and got more face scans? ..............

Also, they have a next gen and current gen group of devs. A handful of the next gen team was already working on 2K22 when 2K21 was past beta phase. No excuses for lots of improvements being it will have well over 1 year of development experience with the new console and figuring out what and how they can utilize its hardware.

I wish Luka could get in that kind of shape.

That would be enough for me in terms of visual improvements, my decision to buy the game always comes down to gameplay. I can deal with little to no visual improvements, but for gameplay I need more than just a slightly better version of last year. We'll see what happens.

That's a great comparison. I don't want to speak too soon but his skin looks better in 2k22. Maybe they finally got white people skin correct because something about it has always looked off to me.

Luka got a real face scan in 22, so that’s not representative of all players. Also his skin doesn’t always look that tan and certainly not that plasticy when he’s playing on my 21 next gen. His face finally looks like the real more fed Luka but his body is identical and way too in shape for him.

To me, the Lowry pics look even better in 21. Let’s be honest, so far the graphical improvements appear mostly to be color edits.

Which means we now know why 2K didn’t do a simple patch for the ridiculously washed out colors. So they can “fix” it for a new game (and we still aren’t sure they really fixed it). Pathetic.

Doncic supposed to have a stocky body type, the fact that 2k thinks this is representative of their cover athlete speaks volumes. They don’t really pay attention.

Right. Luka has that Paul Pierce type frame... he has a Tyler Herro build here in the 2k22 screenshot. His face is also too thin.

Not only do they do him lots of favors on body type but they made him look like Chris Evans in 2K21 lmao.

Luka could be a bit more wider but he's definitely in better shape now

I wouldn't say it's that they don't pay attention, I think it's more that they haven't made it a priority to diversify the body types. It's like they have a set number of preset body types that they use for all players instead of individually adjusting body types player by player.

I know body types have been a topic of discussion here for a number of years, I remember it being a big talking point around 2k15/2k16, and 2k has made some improvement over the years but hopefully at some point this gen they really commit to having more accurate body types.

Some of ya'll are some serious haters. How about we wait to see the game in motion before condemning the entire project?

Same thing every year and often times the same people. I get it, they want a better product and there are certain areas of the game they feel have been neglected and need to be improved, but at what point do people just cut ties and say "this product isn't giving me what I want and until it does I'll pass." It sucks that they don't have an alternative option but it has to be exhausting going through the same cycle year after year.

I kind of look at it as I basically have 3 options: I can dwell on the flaws and negatives and make myself miserable, I can focus on the positives and enjoy the product as much as possible while recognizing there are flaws, or I can move on and ignore the product that isn't satisfying me.

To me it's like when a tv show I really liked takes a turn and I'm no longer enjoying it. This happened with the Walking Dead for me. Instead of continuing to tune in every episode and season and then complaining about everything I don't like about the show I just cut ties and stopped watching.

And I'm with you about these games coming a long ways. I've been playing games since the NES days so I try to keep things in perspective and think about how much games have improved since then. Yeah there are flaws and I'm not just going to be happy with every game I play but there is more than enough content in the videogame world to keep me satisfied that I don't see the point being bothered by games I don't like or nitpicking the flaws in the games I enjoy.
