Madden NFL 22 Title Update 1.002.000 Discussion

Does anyone know if the day 1 patch releases tonight with the game or the 20th?

    Re: Day 1 patch

Last year, the Madden 21 launch week title update went live on the retail release date of the base game, Friday 8/28.

I would anticipate the launch title update for Madden 22, assuming there is one, arriving in a similar window.

This Friday, August 20, is indeed the launch date of the base version of Madden 22, yes.

To be clear, though, EA has said nothing to this point about a launch title update. We are assuming one is coming around that time because historically one shows up. Please don't take my word as gospel here though lol.

Has EA in the past been vocal or open about a day one patch when people asked? Not a great sign that they are ignoring people asking them about it on Twitter…

The Twitter account to follow - @MaddenNFLDirect - did not announce last year's launch title update beforehand, and also historically does not respond to user tweets as far as I know. The first mention of the Madden 21 launch update along with patch notes happened the subsequent Monday.

I think the best course of action for our collective peace of mind is to assume we will play with the early access version of the game for at least a few days and expect that a launch window update is presumably coming soon.

Was referring to the developers on twitter who have responded to other questions but keep ignoring that when people ask.

I'm going to anticipate Thursday night (midnight) patch and will honestly be pretty pissed if it's longer than that.

For their sake, I wonder if the critics will have gotten the current game or they are getting the patched version.

To address this directly - the entire Madden team has reorganized and centralized how they receive and respond to feedback over the past couple years. @MaddenNFLDirect used to be the outlet, but more recently the Madden Voice feedback forum and official Madden NFL message board at EA.com are the ways to go if you seek a response from someone who works at EA.

Expanding on that - my impression is that, for the most part, the days of tweeting at Clint Oldenburg are gone. With maybe the exceptions of Swami or Equipment Guru (who will only be knowledgable about specific facets of the game as designers), I wouldn't count on getting a response to pointed Madden questions from EA developers on Twitter at any point going forward.

The Madden team has their timetable for regular Title Updates, Gridiron Notes, releasing the Scouting Update, etc. If there is a real emergency update needed(not a pseudo emergency as declared by histrionic Hamlet wannabes) they will expedite things, but otherwise they're not moved by whiners and bad actors.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

God forbid getting fired despite proper settings or having no way to see draft picks bc of a blinding light are totally "Take your time we'll get to it in a month or so" issues.

Histrionic Hamlet wannabes? Didn't know that type of language is allowed here.

I know the some equipment will be updated from the trial version of EA play. Some of the cleats are templates and look purple in the trial. But people who gave the game early don’t have those issues.

ironically, this board seems way more active than EA's madden forum (some discussions last post is from Saturday) so wish they looked here instead. thank you.

Since you've only been here for around a year, you have no idea.

Madden devs used be here everyday. Answering questions and looking for feedback. Then it got so bad with the horrible harassment they started to receive that they bowed out never to return. And I don't blame them one bit.

The toxicity in this forum was palpable. And every Tom, Dick, and Harry who had any issues with the game would chastise them at every turn.

They even received death threats and wishes that harm would come to their family's.

So I can guarantee you that you will never see Madden devs here interacting with us ever again.

Maybe they can browse then and not post and still get feedback LOL
