(PS5) Frame drops even on performance mode?

Right when I snap the ball, and even pre-play, I get frame drops. Hard to tell exactly what they drop to, but it’s noticeable and well below 60 (I’m running performance mode).

    Anyone else? Pretty annoying.

So far I haven't noticed a frame rate difference in performance vs. quality, but it could be just me. I was going to ask if there is a different target for each.

EDIT: According to this, the only real tradeoff on PS5 is cutscenes at 60/30 vs. 4K/1440 upscaled. I'm not a fan of cutscenes anyway.
Should you choose Performance or Image Quality mode when playing Madden NFL 22? If you're playing on a next-gen console like the PlayStation 5 or Xbox

After more than eight years on here, I finally figured out how to edit my time zone!

I’m pretty sure if your display allows it, and has the HDMI 2.1 port, PS5 and Series X Madden 22 supports 120fps.

Idk, to me it's pretty noticeable that player models aren't refreshing at 60 fps when you move them preplay and right at the snap...after that they seem fine.

It's like in some games that run at 60 fps, but there will be a fire or something that only refreshes at 30 fps and it looks kind of weird. I don't think it's going as low as 30, but player models refresh rate is definitely not being locked at 60.

You can tell the difference just but seeing how much smoother Madden 21 old gen feels compared to next gen.

          Xbox SX allows 120fps. PS5 is 60.

No 120 on playstation. Xbox also has VRR, so I haven't seen any drops or slow downs. Plays great.
