IR rules franchise

Has anybody used IR in franchise. Did they change it to unlimited and 3 weeks like it is in real life or is it the old mandatory only 2 can return and after like 6 week thing? Thanks. Afraid to put someone on it who is only out 5 weeks.

I have the same question. I'm assuming that because they didn't update to the new practice squad either it's probably old IR rules as well.

EA didn’t prioritize updating IR rules last year because it was believed the changes were temporary only for the COVID-affected season.

I wonder if that changes this year given that those temporary rules are sticking around a while (though I don’t think they are permanent yet). I doubt it, but I think the chances are higher than zero now.

So is the rule in game once you put them in they can return in 8 weeks. And only 2 can return in a season? Or something diff? I can’t find it. Thanks

Those were the rules pre-COVID in both the NFL and in Madden 20. Those rules did not change for Madden 21 and I assume they remain for Madden 22.

My guess is the NFL keeps it due to the additional game.

So do players on IR count towards the roster?? because it is telling me I have to still cut 5 players even though 5 are on IR

This and not being able to actually bring someone back from IR when they were eligible were bugs i experienced a few years ago and because of them i've never risked putting another player on IR.

Only if the injury causes them to miss the rest of the season. It's a crapshoot if you try to use it as intended

So what is the benefit of doing it in that case? Opens a roster spot?
