Will you be purchasing day one?

Bit of a quick and easy one but just wondering what the consensus is for this years game. This is probably one of the only years 2K and basketball in general has kept me interested during the offseason and prior to the lacklustre news and announcements for this game I was hyped, now not so much.

This is more a question for the franchise players out there as I almost play that exclusively, will you be a day one purchaser? Have you already pre-ordered? Or will you until over Christmas when the price drops and any noticeable bugs are fixed? Any other opinions on how you will act on this cycle of game?

For me I will probably continue playing 21 as MyNBA doesn't look very different and I am in no way excited about the staff/training additions, add that to the bugs that the mode had when the game first released and now a large option of rosters and draft classes online. The only thing that could sway me would be the inclusion of an updated the progression/regression system, but there has been no word on that. Let me know your thoughts.

As someone who only plays franchise and career modes and couldn’t even remotely care less about card packs, fake teams of rando players, and online pvp modes, every year that passes gets more and more depressing.

The Show 21 was a waste of money due to the DD infection into RTTS and Madden is an embarrassingly buggy mess. Neither made or will make strides with their franchise modes. Unfortunately, 2K22 will most likely follow suit.

I’ll wait a week or two before deciding, but at this point there’s really no reason for me to buy glorified card collecting games.

As a franchise mode player, no. Still not convinced it’s better enough. And the ridiculous extreme MyGM stuff they added in just seems like a headache to me. Turn off. I like it how it is now in that respect. I can be a “GM” but not put too much time into that aspect. They changed and added NOTHING to the player aspect of MyNBA.

Colors don’t seem to be much different (if they really fixed that, I’m probably in) or corrected, but holding off til I see more videos there.

Defense may be better but I’ve got defense set so aggressively in 21, not sure if that’s reason alone to buy it.

I dunno. I’m waiting for a catalyst. If 2K literally gives me anything of value I’m in.

Preordered and ready to go. 2K is easily my most played sports game each year and I'm strictly a solo player.

Pre-ordered. Think we see a nice improvement gameplay wise.

Hopefully they fixed some of the bugs that have plagued franchise mode since 2k18

This will be the first year I don't do it in a long time. The rotation timelines that the AI teams use are still jacked up-- Milwaukee's default has Giannis playing three straight quarters with no rest, for example.

I saw a live stream video of a player using the Lakers and using Anthony Davis to abuse Jae Crowder with no help from the AI on post-ups. This has been a problem for a while too.

Not to say that the game won't be good, but I don't want to have to constantly ignore glaringly unrealistic aspects of an otherwise fun game.

first time since NBA 2k9 that i wont preorder or buy Day 1. the old gen game is getting more and more expensive on PC and yet they dont give us any selling points to give us reasons to buy the game. i will likely wait until i find a solid key price for <40 €.

Same for me.
While 2k15~20 legit key price was around 30/35€, the last 2 games are overpriced.
So i will wait for a grey key at decent price or Epic free version...

I stopped preordering/day 1 buying 2k several years ago. I’ll buy it at Christmas or early next year when it’s on sale for like 30 bucks, but definitely not paying 65+ for a virtual card game with basketball added in.

I might get day 1 because of 6000 pt punchcard on Xbox and I have thousands of reward points I can use to reduce cost.
