Is there a way to control/add injuries?

I'm thinking of doing a Packers franchise where Rodgers retires, so I want to essentially remove him from the game. I'd like to place him on IR because I want him to come back next year so I can trade him.

It's a very hyper-specific scenario, but is there a way where I can edit him in the roster menu to be injured? I haven't found a way to do this. Wondering if you guys have any other ideas.

My other thought was to just make all of his attributes 0 and cut him, but that wouldn't work after the first season. I could always just keep him on the roster but I'd like to have a regular 53. Any ideas?

There is currently no way to manually edit injuries in Madden.

Injuries can only be edited on PC.

Best you can do is turn off injuries and pre-existing injuries.

Trade him and a 7th for a 7th. Make him a P. After Super Bowl ends. Make him a QB. And goto other team and release him.

Really hoping manual injuries make it in next year 🤞🏼

Best workaround for this is to change his position to kicker and change it back whenever you want to re-insert him into your franchise. Hope that helps!

I remember when Peyton Manning was injured with the Colts and I wanted to replicate this (before the roster update). I just lowered Peyton's injury attribute to 0 and played the first preseason game and ran with him until I got an injury that was severe enough to knock him out of a game or two. Finished the rest of the game and then placed Peyton on IR for the remainder of the season.

Maybe something similar can work for you?

Edit his injury to 0 then run him like a bat out of hell in pre season till he’s injuries then IR him and out his injury back to normal for the next season

Re: Is there a way to control/add injuries?

I have a related question that's probably not worth creating a whole new thread.

I have pre-existing injuries on and David Bakhtiari has a Complete ACL Tear. In my one test (with an outdated roster) he was only out for about 12 weeks from the first week of preseason, yet I've now restarted my franchise about 50 times and he hasn't had anything fewer than 25 weeks. Is there a way to see if it's even possible now for him to have fewer than 20 weeks of injury for that injury? Or should I just not bother and turn pre-existing injuries off?

Re: Is there a way to control/add injuries?

You can add or remove injuries using the Madden Xtreme DB Editor. It's pretty simple to do:

                      1) Load your roster file into the Madden Xtreme DB Editor

                      2) In the Players tab, locate the player you want to add to the injury list and find his Player ID # and Team #.

                      3) Then go to the INJY tab. It will be blank. Right click and "Add New Record." A new field would be created.

                      4) In the field, add your player's ID # to PGID tab and his team # in the TGID tab.

                      5) Then you can edit the other fields accordingly:

INJL: Injury Length (Adding 8 to this field, for instance, will make the injury length 8 weeks)

INIR: Injury Reserve (It is easier to do this in game, but I believe "1" puts the player on IR.)

INJT: Injury Type (There are several different injury types, of course, I believe the definition file included in the editor list the appropriate numbers for particular injuries.)

To REMOVE pre-exsisting injuries simply go to the INJY tab and delete the record.
