Sliders don't Work in NBA 2K22

I find that in NBA 2K22 the shooting tendency sliders in the gameplay menu don’t work. I have increased the Mid-Range shooting slider to 90 and have not seen an increase shooting attempts in the midrange area. I find myself having to do mass edits in the Roster Creation menu in order to see significant gameplay changes.

Next Gen. If SIM players want to make the opposing AI team to take more midrange shots, it’ll be wiser to edit roster tendencies rather than gameplay sliders.

I’ve literally been doing the same thing. What do you have your mid tendencies up to right now? I have players like cp3 and khris mid around the 60 mark

It’s a combo of tendency sliders you’ll have to increase:

Spot up Mid
Off screen Mid
Contested Mid
Drive pull-up Mid

Increasing those 4 tendency sliders for allstar and offensive minded players in the roster creation screen will yield more mid range shots and varied offence for the AI

how high do you recommend going on those tendencies? Around 70+?

Sure, try it at 70+. I ran a test and mass edited everyone’s mid range tendencies to be at 100 and a lot of players were shooting midrange Js when they should’ve taken it to the hole.

I turned down the CPU “Attack the Basket” slider down to 0 in the gameplay sliders menu and the CPU was still relentless attacking the hoop lol

New discovery, after looking thoroughly at the default 2K roster I found it puzzling why the driving dunk tendency was so high for star and offensive minded players. I lowered it and made sure that the driving pull up mid-range tendency slider was higher and this definitely made a difference. Seeing a lot more mid-range shots taken and the CPU doesn’t relentlessly attack the basket, instead the CPU is using a varied mix now.

It doesn’t matter what sliders you use, if the Roster tendencies aren’t right, it won’t play out like you want to.

This is disappointing and kinda ruining the game for me, will be back when some patches come out and hopefully some fixes to the sliders or something

Just off putting that gameplay sliders are not so effective when changing tendencies and that you have to edit the tendencies in the roster in order to see some real on court changes.

Are you able to share your roster edits with me so i dont have to do it? I am on xbox series x. If not could you explain in depth a little more about what you did. This has always been a problem with 2k and glad that someone is adressing it and making moves. Thanks for any help you can provide!

I’m on PS5 and basically increased any tendency sliders that involves Mid-Range in the roster creation page. I’ve also lowered all the close/under the basket shooting tendencies as well as decreasing layup and dunking tendency sliders. You will still see layups and dunks.

What is crucial is to increase pull-up when driving tendency sliders as well. Just as long as the Mid-range and pull-up tendency sliders are all higher by 10+ than the other layup/dunk/close shooting tendency sliders you should be fine.

So your going through and editing each individual player basically?? How long did that take

Was about ready to pull the trigger on this but will wait to see if slider issue is fixed.
