Kane's Hat Trick not enough, DUCKS spoil SHARKS opener with 8-4 Victory...
RECAP
San Jose, CA- The Anaheim Ducks(1-0) spoiled the San Jose Sharks(0-1) home opener tonight and did so with authority.
A 8-4 Victory over their Pacific Rivals inside the SAP Center in San Jose, California.
"We wanted to come here and get that first win out of the way. We know how good San Jose is so for us to come in here and get a win was important for us." Ducks Head Coach Randy Carlyle said.
San Jose swept Anaheim in the first round of the Playoffs last year.
"That's irrelevant. We're in a new season." Ducks Corey Perry stated.
Sharks Goaltender Martin Jones allowed all 8 Goals as San Jose(0-1) tried to battle.
"We battled hard with him in net. We need to clean up our mistakes so we're not leaving Jonesy by himself." Sharks Head Coach Peter DeBoer said.
Despite allowing 8 Goals, Jones turned away 34 shots as he did his best against a stingy Ducks squad.
In the net for Anaheim(1-0) was Ryan Miller who turned away 47 Shots by the desperate San Jose Sharks.
"We got desperate. You make mistakes when you're desperate." Sharks Winger Evander Kane stated.
His Hat Trick wasn't enough for the win. Rookie Tyler Adams got his first Career Goal as the Fins lost 8-4.
The Sharks will look to get past this as they prepare for a long 5 Game trip on the East Coast with a stop down south against their hated rivals.
The Los Angeles Kings.
