We're back! Well...I am anyway...


After taking a year off, Al and I smashed our heads together and created the TRUE DEPTH ROSTER for NHL 22.


Featuring:

• Over 750 created players including (literally) every single drafted NHL prospects from NCAA, USHL, Russia, BCHL, etc.
• Added prospects for the next four NHL entry drafts (70+ for '22, 50+ for '23, 40 for '24, and 20 for '25!)
• Adjusted ratings for NHL, AHL and European leagues for better simulation.
• Added X-Factors to players to reflect the key aspect(s) of their game.
• About 100 player faces (props to SuperHighwayGaming) for prospects
• Removed Auston Matthews' moustache

WHOA ! Spreadsheet is quite impressive !

I'm on PS5, but I'll certainly take an in-depth look at it, later today, as this seems to be some GREAT work !

Where did you put guys like Fantilli and Michkov? Leave them in free-agency or assign them to a Junior team?

We assigned them to junior to make it easier for draft.

Im assuming you just place them on random Junior teams? The USHL, KHL rookies for example.

And the ECHL players.. were they moved over to the AHL teams?

We moved ECHL players to the ahl that have contracts so franchise will have their full amount of drafted players. Anyone 17 and under and in the ohl and whl so their is no issue with the upcoming drafts and it’ll make it easier when scouting in franchise.
For sliders I’m using AlTito’s sliders and they mesh well with our ratings adjustment.

Is the spreadsheet meant to more of a template or is it 100% reflective of the uploaded rosters?

It's very possible that I'm completely missing something, but it seems like there are player ratings that are different than the spread sheet data. Same thing for zone/superstar ability information.

Jared McCann is listed as an 85 in the document, in game he's 81
Gourde is 87 vs 82
Devon Toews 90 vs 88
Aston-Reese 83 vs 79

There are many others. I have looked at both the original upload and the update that was posted, both have differences from the spreadsheet.

Again it's possible I've just missed something.

FYI:

Unfortunately, you can't search by creator name (why?). If you search, look under "True Depth".

The spreadsheet isn’t 100% to the save yet. I’m still going they and making the adjustments to players in game. It unfortunately takes forever doing this . We have edited almost every nhl and ahl player . We will be fixing ratings and should have it more uniform in the next save.

To add to what Al said, there were a couple times where I was editing or Al was editing (we took turns) and we would say "Bunting as a 73? F&%K OFF!" and just change it on the fly (my exact quote.)



We had full intentions of keeping things agile, but we descended into ad hoc at the end

I downloaded the update you shared, and when I got to the 2022 NHL Draft, I noticed immediately that Simon Nemic is missing. He’s projected to be a Top 3 pick.

Yep he will be fixed in the next update. Shanster and I are using save wizard to work on the roster and send updates to each other and I think we had an issue with the last save sent ,where some ratings are off . I’m fixing them tomorrow and should have it up for the next update we post.
