Cool to see Pryor win the Heisman, he went to my HS alma mater and played with my younger brother before transferring to another school on the other side of town (he was originally at Ardrey Kell HS in Charlotte, then finished at Hough HS in Cornelius just north of Charlotte).

Fan of your graphics and presentation as always, looking forward to seeing if Texas can be relevant again

Crazy to see Oklahoma played in all 3 national title games. I’m hoping you and it boys will change that quickly!

This roster is 100% good enough to win more than one game, and they really should have last season. The only thing that let them down on offense was the quarterback play, but I hope to have that back on track this season.

It was funny to see him win the trophy, if I had stayed at Ohio State I would have had a hand in two Heisman winners. I always like it when people have stories about real life players, so thak you for sharing that.

They have been dominant. Texas hasn't won against them in all three years of this dynasty, and I really think it could be the same against this year, they are just strong all across the board.

Wow they did Kam Dewberry dirty with those ratings. Also, is your backup C really rated below 50?

I have 10 outgoing seniors, with another 20 juniors however, I only really see maybe 3, possibly 4 of those with NFL-ready talent so I am going to assume I have the potential to hand out 13 scholarships to players this season.

The board currently has 18 players on it and this will change as the season goes on as I shuffle the board around depending on who I prefer and who I don't. I have only scouted each player 25%, and I will continue to add to that as the season goes on depending on if I have points to spend.

I don't see the value in adding 1 and 2-star players to the board, it just clogs it up and the game will always throw these players into your team anyway as "walkons".

I thought that too, but it's someone else's class. He will improve with the custom training though I recon. Yeah, he is, I stupidly didn't check before I simmed past the position changes, so he came in as a walkon however, he isn't my backup on the depth chart.

College football's 2024 season is slated to start in late August, but it's never too early to project where 126 teams will finish at the end of the year. ESPN released its top 25 in May and now it's time to take a quick look into what we think about our Top 5 teams going into preseason. Oklahoma takes the top spot at No. 1, with LSU, Ohio State, Florida State, and Clemson closing out the top 5.

There are always plenty of questions going into a new season. Will Oklahoma make it four from four in terms of national championship appearances or will we finally see two different teams battle it out for college football's most precious prize?

It's now three seasons since the Sooners lifted the national title in Indianapolis and one would be led to believe that the Sooners have fallen off, but that isn't the case. Lincoln Riley's men have made it to each of the last three title games losing to Ohio State in 2023 and Clemson in 2024.

The Sooners once again sit atop of college football's top 25 going into the 2024 season. Caleb Williams returns for his senior season and Sooners faithful will be hoping he can stay healthy after two injury-plagued seasons in 2022 and 2023. Williams played in just one game last season passing for 115-yards and a touchdown. Marcus Major rushed for 1255-yards and thirteen touchdowns in 2023 and he will now be joined in the Sooners rushing attack by the talented four-star recruit out of Texarkana, TX, Austin Hayes Jr. Luther Burden and Mario Williams will once again provide solid pass catchers for Caleb Williams in what will once again be high powered Sooners offense.

The Sooners defense may have struggled to contain D.J. Uiagalelei and the Clemson Tigers offense in the title game but that was the only time the defense was really exposed last season. Brynden Walker returns as a senior after winning the Bednarik, Nagurski, and Butkus awards last season and he will be joined by defensive end Clayton Smith who so far in two seasons has racked up 15.5 sacks.

LSU comes into the 2024 season ranked as the nation's No. 2 team. The Tiger's only loss in 2023 came against Oklahoma and they finished off the season with a one-point (22-21) win over No. 25 Pittsburgh in the Peach Bowl.

The Tigers offense has lost starting quarterback Max Johnson who threw for 37 touchdowns, they have also lost their starting running back in John Emery Jr. However, Deion Smith returned and he is a 1st team All-American after catching 91 receptions for 1456-yards and 13 touchdowns as a junior. Garrett Nussmeier will be Ed Orgeron's new man under center and despite being a senior he has only made 52 passes his whole career.

LSU's strength comes from its defense. Defensive ends Maason Smith and Phillip Webb have a combined 23.5 sacks throughout their careers in Death Valley and they will once again be a formidable force for any opposing offense. Senior safeties Derrick Davis Jr. and Pig Cage lead a young defensive backfield that includes the talented former five-star cornerback AJ Harris.

Ohio State is loaded and they will once again be a heavy favorite to go all the way. Quinn Ewers finally gets his chance to shine in the Buckeyes offense after sitting behind C.J. Stroud who let's not forget led the Buckeyes to a national title two years ago, he was also a first-round pick in the NFL draft. Ewers is fortunate enough to be able to hand the ball off to the best player in college football in Evan Pryor who won the Heisman Trophy last season. Pryor led the NCAA with 1708-yards and 17 touchdowns and he will once again be a heavy favorite to retain the Heisman Trophy in this offense. The offensive line took the biggest hit, and Ewers will be faced with sitting behind three new starters in sophomores Cedric Wright, Kadyn Proctor, and Demon Moore but that isn't to say these three are scrubs.

The talent in the Buckeyes defensive backfield is sickening. Denzel Burke, Ryan Watts, Jakailin Johnson, and safety Cameron Martinez all look to be NFL-ready talents and you throw in the fact that Jaheim Singletary was a five-star recruit of Riverside High School in the class of 2022 and he sits fourth on their depth chart. C.J. Hicks returns as the team's most senior linebacker and he will be joined by junior Reid Carrico and sophomore Kaleb Brown.

Florida State comes in as the biggest surprise at No.4. They didn't win the ACC last season, nor did they even finish above Syracuse in the Atlantic but somehow ESPN rates them higher than our national champions, Clemson?

The Seminoles finally recruited a quarterback who can lead them in A.J. Duffy and if it wasn't for an injury in week four last season the new junior would have had a stellar year. Darius Washington is an absolute beast at right tackle and that's why he is a 1st team All-American, he didn't give up a single sack last year and he leads an offensive line that contains 4 seniors and a junior. Lawrence Toafili will be the Seminoles no.1 running back in 2024 after sharing carries with Jashaun Corbin last season.

The team's leading tacklers Amari Gainer and Jaleel Mcrae are now gone but Shambre Jackson (DE) returns with a team-leading 6.5 sacks last year. Sidney Williams also returned and he will team up with Demorie Tate and Travis Jay in the Seminoles backfield.

The Seminoles will be no slouches, but to have them ranked No.4 is questionable!

Clemson closes out the preseason top 5 despite winning the national title last season. This ranking has to be down to the sheer amount of talent the Tigers lost after that title run. D.J. Uiagalelei went off to be the first overall pick in the NFL draft after winning both the Maxwell and O'Brien awards. They also lost three out of five of their starters along the offensive line and both leading pass catchers in E.J. Williams and tight end Jaelyn Lay and that was just on the offense.

Thankfully Emmanuel Henderson did decide to come back after leading the team in rushing last year, he will once again pair up with Willy Shipley after combining for 2029-yards, and 24 touchdowns last season. Senior Hunter Helms is the clear starter for the Tigers despite never throwing a single pass in his career, and that's because surprisingly Dabo Swinney and his staff have done a poor job recruiting their next star quarterback, however that could change with the reports Alex Williams is about to commit.

The Tigers defense replaces two out of its three starting linebackers from last season with only Jeremiah Trotter Jr. back. Freshman Csont'e Pollard will start at middle linebacker with sophomore Jeremy McCarty on the outside. Shemar Stewart and Cade Denhoff will team up with Demonte Capehart to form a formidable defensive line all three have combined for 20 career sacks. Domani Jackson led the Tigers in interceptions last season and he finds himself in a defensive backfield with All-American Andrew Mukuba.

Austin, Texas -- A full capacity of 100,000 inside Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium got to witness what their Longhorns team will look like under new head coach Russell Warner going forward, and say it was a complete performance would be an overstatement, however, this Texas team certainly looks better than it did last year already.

Texas was manhandled in this fixture last season but that wasn't the case today. The Longhorns controlled all four quarters against the Bulldogs. The Longhorns scored touchdowns on three out of its first four offensive drives and ran out 31-21 victors, equalling their total amount of wins last season in week one.

Cade Klubnik managed just one quarter in last year's loss, but the junior quarterback looked so much better under center in Warner's offense, this could be seen when the junior bounced straight back in the second quarter from a RedZone interception to find Jaden Alexis for a 44-yard touchdown connection. Klubnik finished the game 20-of-29 passing for 277-yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. Le'Veon Moss was kept relatively contained by the Bulldogs defense and averaged just 3.7 yards per carry on his way to 72-yards and a touchdown off 19 attempts. Jaivon Ramsey showed glimpses of what a promising talent he is going to be leading the team in receptions with six, but it was Jaden Alexis and fellow freshman Xander Weems on hand with touchdown receptions.

"This is just the start," Texas head coach Russell Warner said after the game. "It will be a long season ahead, and we can't get too far in front of ourselves thinking this win means that Texas is back. Yes, we played well, but we were far from perfect and I want us to play perfect football all the time."

Texas lost slot corner Denver Harris to a concussion in the early part of the third quarter but his replacement Terrance Brooks balled out. The Junior picked off Sawyer Robertson on his first defensive rep and returned the ball 57-yards for the pick-six to put Texas up 28-14. Brooks, also recorded the second interception in the fourth quarter when the Bulldogs were trying to stretch the field. Brooks wasn't the only Longhorn's standout on defense with the sophomore defensive end Ernest Cooper IV a constant thorn in the Bulldogs side with three sacks on the day.

Mississippi State's true freshman partnership at running back failed to get off the ground. Ashton Ezukanma was held to 58-yards with Braylon Phelps carrying the ball just twice for 6-yards. Sawyer Robertson who sat behind Will Rogers last season didn't electrify anyone with a lowly 119-yards passing against a Texas defensive backfield that played shutdown football. Robertson did however show his talent when running the ball on a 21-yard touchdown run in the first quarter which saw him break that tackle of Texas linebacker Leviticus Su'a.

The Takeaway: Texas held Mississippi State to under 300-yards of total offense, a stark contrast to this time last year when they allowed 413-yards in the 41-7 loss. The Longhorns were 5-11 (45%) on third down, and were 1-1 on fourth down.

Next week, Texas (1-0, 0-0) takes their first road trip of the season when they take on Ole Miss (0-1, 0-1). The Rebels are coming off a 42-21 loss to #1 Oklahoma in week one.

TE Xander Weems first collegiate touchdown reception opened the scoring.

Ernest Cooper IV pulls down Robertson for his first of three sacks.

Jaden Alexis is left wide open on this touchdown catch.

Terrance Brooks takes this interception for a touchdown.

Russell Warner looked happy going into the fourth quarter.

Really good win to open up your Texas career. Seems like the offense was solid (though I'm sure you want more from the running game), and the defense held its own.

The running game needs to improve against Ole Miss. Jolly isn't blessed with blazing speed out of the gate, it takes him a while to get going but we definitely need more from Moss.

Alabama has been hit hard in the last two seasons. Jalen Milroe hasn't exactly panned out to be their next "dynasty" quarterback and his backups are even worse. Saban is still there, he would be 73 in real life at this point. However, I only noticed at the start of this season that the roster creators had reset his and Mack Brown's age so they stayed around longer than 1 season. I have corrected that now, so this could be his last.
