Best 2K ever vs CPU with 1 simple adjustment

I play offline only. Vs another user it was the best 2K for me from the get go. In the beginning vs the CPU it was a different story because the CPU seemed to be stuck on Shot Timing, resulting in low CPU FG%.

But with the introduction of the Shot Coverage Impact and Shot Timing Impact sliders, this is the best 2K in franchise history.

On default sliders with the CPU Shot Timing Impact slider at 0 (= CPU Real Player %), you'll have a completely different game.

I max out all CPU/USER Foul Frequency sliders and play with following settings, but that's personal preference.

    Display Mode - Light
    Quarter Length - 12 Minutes
    Shot Feedback - Off
    Ball Handler Text - None
    Shot Meter - Off
    Shot Timing - Shots only
    Perfect Release - None
    Perfect Release SFX - None
    Camera - SkyBox (Zoom - 10 | Height - 1)

you do understand the game is lacking in a ton of different areas, and this adjustment of yours only impacts CPU shooting, right?

Broadcast cam for me. . . I usually almost max or raise significantly midrange, fouls, stepbacks, floater and a few other player tendency ratings(globally) then go back an reduce certain tendencies for bigs who DON'T really possess those tools however. . . I do agree with the other comment stating "the game is lacking in a ton of areas" so I tweak other gameplay sliders to my liking. . .

I was told that shot timing for the cpu at zero mean nothing.

I see a lot of people say it makes a difference. I still
Have CPU’s at 50 (mine is at 15) because they’re still competitive against me, but is the next step I’ll take once/if they become too easy.

I'm not disputing that, I'm just saying you'll have a complete different game with cpu on real player % (= CPU Shot Timing Impact at 0), IMO it's like playing against another user. When I'm playing sports games against the cpu, I want them to play like another user and not like their real life counterpart per se, but that's my personal preference.

I've been looking at some box scores in the slider section and they look very simular than mine: too many points in the paint and offensive rebounds, not enough turnovers and FT&3PT attempts. It all depends on your style of play and skill level.

No offense, but I'm 100% sure you're misinformed.

You'll see this when you play with shot feedback on for all shots (cpu and user).

Play with default sliders on Real Player %, you'll see (N/A) when the user takes a shot, but the cpu is stuck on shot timing (not N/A).

Then play with default sliders but only change CPU Shot Timing Impact to 0 and tell me you don't notice a difference. The cpu is still stuck on shot timing (not N/A) but now cpu shot timing impact is 0, which is the same as N/A.

I adjust the OVR ratings (with Intangibles and Off/Def Consistency) and do some position changes to have closer to real life rotations. For some bigs (Howard, Jordan, Marjanovic, Griffin, Millsap, ...) I also remove badges by leveling down all badges except personality badges. I do keep my in season roster up to date using import player DNA, that's why I don't adjust tendencies.
