The PS Plus games usually leak in the last week of the month if you want to wait, but I wouldn’t get your hopes up. That article is speculation based on nothing other than the game happens to release on the first Tuesday of the month.

I’d be shocked if that happens. Free PS Plus games are never brand new major titles like The Show and Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga. I assume most people are already subscribed to PlayStation Plus, so it’d be a major loss of money handing out new 69.99 games for free, there’d be no reason to buy them if you can play just by staying subscribed to PlayStation Plus.

Because Microsoft makes so much money they can afford to lose money in the short term for long term profits. Xbox doesn’t carry Microsoft. PlayStation is a big part of Sony.

PlayStation already has an established MLB The Show player base. XBox isn’t quite there yet.

Destruction All Stars also, but as far as I know, none of those are full priced $60 or $70 AAA games.

Game Pass and PS Plus are two totally different services. PS Plus is primarily access to play online multiplayer games, with a few cheaper games thrown in each month. The Xbox equivalent is Xbox Live Gold. Game Pass costs more than PS Plus and it’s main purpose is the playable game library, the closest PS comparison is PS Now. I would think if there is a “free” option for PS, it would be on PS Now.

In the store if a sequel comes out of another during that month.

Am I certain in saying. Also adding the game to your library means you own it even if you don’t have ps plus at a later date ?? Where as gamepass you have to pay to rent your games each month and never own

No, if you get a game for free with PS+ and your membership expires you cant play until you subscribe again.

As for it coming to PS+ for free while I don't think it's likely I wouldn't rule it out completely. Sony has been working on their own version of game pass for a while now. At least that's what they consider it to be. In reality, it just seems to be PS+ and PS Now merging into one thing with different pricing tiers. Maybe the higher tier version of that will include day one access to first party games. Kind of running out of time to officialy announce that if its the case though.
