Re: Franchise Designer Andre Weingarten leaving EA Sports
This leaves me far more skeptical on the state of Madden 23's franchise mode and the future of it.

Re: Franchise Designer Andre Weingarten leaving EA Sports
There has been turnover with Madden lately. With Looman, Young, and now Swami, Haumiller is likely working more on CFB. Those are key names. I do wonder how this effects the outlook of Franchise and Madden in general. With Michael Young gone, I do see them going away from Face of the Franchise. Typically you don't see them go with a mode like that for more than 2-3 years like Longshot.Comment

Re: Franchise Designer Andre Weingarten leaving EA Sports
Man that sucks. He was such a big asset. I'd love to see an alternate reality where quality talents like Swammy & Rex were supported with the resources they needed to accomplish their vision. I think scouting could've been awesome if he was actually allowed to do what he wanted to. You could hear his passion in the podcast last summer and this is just another wasted opportunity by EA. Hope he & his talents are valued in whatever he does next.Comment

Seemed from what I could glean like a smart and thoughtful guy who cared about football and Madden franchise mode. Hate to see people like that go, but wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors.Comment

Re: Franchise Designer Andre Weingarten leaving EA Sports
God himself could work on Franchise mode I'd have zero faith EA would get it right. Madden and plenty of other EA series have shown they have an issue as an entire company right now and cannot deliver on their promises and continue to put out low quality games.
After this past cycle, where franchise was a focus again, I don't know how anyone could have an ounce of faith in EA delivering anything satisfactory with Madden 23.
This isn't a knock on the individual programmers on the frontlines putting in hours. It's clear EA has leadership issues ruining many of their flagship titles as their focus each game seems to be on anything but providing polished games with depth.

Good news is that if franchise is getting any improvements next year he would have worked on/designed a lot of it.

Andre bore the brunt of the hate on Twitter. No way EA was paying him enough to deal with that.Comment

Re: Franchise Designer Andre Weingarten leaving EA Sports
This is great. Now they will bring in a new person and we get to hear his vision of franchise and allow him 12 years and four generations of consoles to implement his vision.
