Re: NBA 2K22 Official Roster Update (3.31.22) - 9th Ratings Update

Nice to see Jordan Poole finally get into the 80 overall club! But it's a little disappointing that they still have not boosted his Stamina rating, which is currently an 80 (lowest on the team). He is averaging 30 mins a game on the season and been playing even more since Steph has been out. I really hope they fix it before the season ends because he gets tired way too quickly. He also should have way more than 4 badges.

Speaking of Steph, he has been injured for 2 weeks now and they still haven't put him on injury reserve lol I really don't understand.

The injuries have been badly managed all year as there’s often 2-3 players who are injured but left active for days/weeks at a time. Right now, there are 6-7 players out for the year that have no injury added to them at all. It’s most frustrating for those who play online. I don’t personally mind as much as I’m strictly an offline player who creates my own custom roster.

But that's the hilarious part. They already put Anthony Davis back in the game.

This will probably be the last roster up date of the year. Maybe one more.

This needed to happen. But in shocked they didn't change Jordan Poole stamina. These changes have too have a checks and balances. I love that they finally gave Detroit some love. I know people consider them a bad team. But their an NBA team. It shouldn't be G League ratings.

Removing those badges is huge Klay. But not giving that stamina bump to Poole is 2 steps back.

Agreed, we might see one more update. Jordan Poole should've been updated a minute minute ago, stamina included, like Stevie Wonder could see he's been ballin' out of control. . .

Detroit was done DIRTY the entire season, even teams with the worst records pull off wins sometimes. . .

It should be noted that various Thunder, Blazers etc players went up after getting the first meaningful playing time of their careers.

If ALL PLAYERS go up the second they get playing time (irrespective of how well they play) then maybe that should say something about how they're being initially rated.

They haven't actually re-rated Poole. 90% of 2K's OVR changes are due to 3pt fluctuation and nothing more.

                    Feb: 26 3pt%
                    March: 44 3pt%

They have half-assed it all year (or really 10%-assed it). They're able to get away with it because people will see that +2 and think they actually did something and say "finally". When in reality they only adjust half the attributes w/ regularity and they flat out ABANDONED the badge system.

4 Badges (Andrew Wiggins: 26 - also note that Poole averaged 25 PPG this month)
                    98 Intangibles (woah baby!)
                    75 Speed & Acceleration (Draymond Green: 73/74)
                    72 Speed w/ Ball
74 Lateral Quickness (Otto Porter: 76)
80 Stamina (3rd in Warriors MPG, 32 MPG as Starter, lowest attribute on team)
                    30 Defensive Consistency (Team Low)

While I can certainly be a condescending prick, and that can maybe be tiresome, I don't think I am unfair with my criticism. I have a full-time job, edit rosters as a hobby, even document the changes this roster team is paid to do.... and yet the quality of my work has been significantly deeper the entire year.

The quality or their work this season has been nothing short of dismal. This is EASILY their lowest effort year in 10 years (if not more).

That in itself is interesting, because they've put in the work on the systems & scaling. They have no interest in maintaining it, and no drive to generate interest in what they're doing. They've become EA in that regard, where you can tell there's no artistic vision or joy on that front. What once might have been fun has completely stagnated into just a chore. They're just collecting a check, there's no pride in the work, and it shows. That's why it's time for a change. Get some new blood in there who actually have a pulse for what's going on in the NBA, who actually spent their career in NBA circles & player analysis. We don't need anymore of Czar's boys club who'll work for cheap.

They have half-assed it all year (or really 10%-assed it). They're able to get away with it because people will see that +2 and think they actually did something and say "finally". When in reality they only adjust half the attributes w/ regularity and they flat out ABANDONED the badge system.

Re: NBA 2K22 Official Roster Update (3.31.22) - 9th Ratings Update

Real2KInsider is spot on in regards to this year being the worst year in a very long time in terms of the roster team thoroughly editing much outside of transactions and counting stats & Intangible attributes. The lack of effort to change much of anything badge-wise is a MAJOR issue as the BADGES play the most vital part IMO to better gameplay overall. 2K has slowly started to back away from Tendencies playing an important role in gameplay (Although they still need proper tweaking).

There are a few alarming issues that I have continually found to be minor but still important errors in regards to the offline rosters

                        - Injuries are all over the place all season as many players who are currently out for the year, still remain active while players who have returned from injury remained injured. There is no consistency in injury management and there is also no excuse for not editing them properly with the NBA releasing injury reports 4 times daily as well as various news sites (ESPN, CBS) using tracking systems to monitor each team's injuries as well. A simple 5 game absence should be the benchmark for when to injure a player in-game and if they are marked "Out For the Season" which should be self-explanatory. Players returning from injury should be active in-game no later than the next morning. Currently there are over a dozen players still active in-game despite already being ruled out for the year by the respective teams

                        - Player Accessories and Shoe Brand/Models have barely been updated at all dating back to 2K21. There's a small effort for a player who has a specific shoe added to the game. I would at least like to see a "Bi-Weekly" Update of all 30 teams to keep accessories and shoes updated accordingly.

                        - Player Jersey Numbers are often missed when adding players to teams. Currently, there are 4 players with incorrect jersey numbers (2 of which have been on teams for over a month).

                        - Rotations are often messed up due to a lack of injury updates and care for the OVR and how it messes with the AI logic of lineup management

                        - Defense/Speed/ACC/Speed With Ball ratings are the worst they've been in a long time. There are dozens of above-average defenders rated 50 or under in defense categories while so many guards are rated with speed ratings in the low to mid-70s (Some with 50/60's speed) while some bigs have guard-like speed. It is easy to know that Justin Holiday for example should not have a speed with ball rating of 50.

                        - The intangibles modifier is a great addition if utilized properly but because of the drastic underperformance of some of the formulas for positions, the need for an extremely high intangible rating completely changes a players OVR w/O having to properly modify anything else to get the OVR wanted.

                        - A lot of players were not touched at all rating-wise this year (Killian Hayes, a bunch of two-way players, lower rotation players), and that IMO is a problem as all 30 teams and all 17 players on each team should be properly rated at least bi-monthly.

                        - The Classic and All-Time Teams have not seen an IN-SEASON Update since NBA 2K20. So many players that are missing on those classic teams end up getting added to MYTEAM throughout the current game cycle but there is no proper ROSTER Update to those teams at all to include them on proper teams. Errors continually get recycled yearly with copy and paste efforts despite numerous offline roster makers providing visual and written changes needed to help make the rosters more accurate.

                        - 2K22 Has been IMO the first year where I've been the most frustrated with where the entire Roster Process is headed. Previously I would remain frustrated with smaller things but they'd be eventually fixed, but this year there are many bugs (Exported CAPS with Tattoos who were exported after the release of the latest PATCH won't have their tattoos show up when imported to another roster), (Invisible Heads when exporting 2K Roster Official CAPS), (Inability to properly edit all badges on quick edit screen).

Keep beating this drum!!! Someone will hear us. They have to!

We posted so much about changes. Someone could easily go through this threads pick up knowledge and then apply it to the rosters.

But overall the lack of communication on rosters has really bothered me this year. I know COVID ****ed up a lot of things. Some of these things are BS

Edit: Here is a bone head thing I came across. How do players have Hot Zone Badges but have no Hot zones applied to the players? How? You'll never be able to activate the badge then [emoji854]

                              There isn't profit in that.

Much like forums are a dying medium, fans largely don't have interest in long-form minutia. Less than 1,000 people would notice if they sat down for a month making posted adjustments.

The updates that they make need to be delivered in a captivating way, and they just don't have anyone up to the task internally. We don't consume media the same way anymore.

I would imagine the vast majority of users on this forum are in their 40s at this point. The game is being made & paid for by the TikTok generation. Nobody gives a **** anymore about the wall of text they put out with 150 OVR changes (half of which are probably tweaks to a fake attribute).

We have YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, etc and the only person in the company with any sort of presence/influence uses it to build their fake celebrity. They don't have anyone in the company that can generate NBA buzz. A 10-second video highlighting a change to a player would say infinitely more and create engagement on a platform that actually gets used.

2K doesn't have the internal communication or savvy required to pull that off. It's highly doubtful they'd be willing to put resources into training their existing employees either. There isn't any vision, and the roster team itself is too busy drowning under the weight of the 10 other things they're required to do BESIDES curate the roster (for a pittance salary).

(2K22 is the first game we can say they're officially drowning and not treading water).

Here is a bone head thing I came across. How do players have Hot Zone Badges but have no Hot zones applied to the players? How? You'll never be able to activate the badge then
The real answer is they're just giving HZH to anyone who has Green Machine. They will handcuff certain badges together. There isn't any actual consideration to how well a player is performing in their zones or anything like that.
