Re: MLB The Show 22 - (PS5/Xbox Series X|S) Impressions
Whoa….PS5 game on PS5….stunningly beautiful. Played a game in a created stadium. Started at 7pm, light outside, transitioned to night time (woot). Needs a roster update, Freeman/Kershaw still in FA. -

Ah….nice…a guy with 20 speed tagged up from 2nd to 3rd on a not so deep fly out to RF. Last year that runner would have stayed put.Comment

Quite a few fake coaches. Except for Melvin all Padre coaches are fake. (bummer)Comment

I did the same, used a created stadium to see what it looks like. Beautiful looking game first impression.JUUUUUUUST A BIT OUTSIDEComment

Looks like they imported the same exact coaches from last years game. I fired Melvin just to look at some choices……awful looking faces.Comment

Stadium creator lets you preview night mode. I guess so you put the correct number of light fixtures in your stadium. Nice.Comment

The game looks exactly the same to me. That's not a bad thing but I'm not blown away by the graphics. Framerate seems real solid which has been a problem in the past.
The commentary though. Absolute game changer. It's hard to describe exactly why but it just feels like a real broadcast and they pulled off the illusion of it not feeling scripted.
Gameplay is rock solid like always. I'm sure I'll get more of the nuance as time goes by.2016 NLL Champion Saskatchewan Rush

Whoa!!! Haven’t figured it out yet, but there is a HUGE flashing scoreboard type sign that flashes LET’S GO to use. New interface so I have to play around with it.
Oh, yee of little faith.Comment

Well, they really changed the interface to create/edit a stadium. Struggling thru it. Was hoping for more signs, but only see 2. One says PLAYERS ALLIANCE. Flags move in the wind. Bullpens the same. Seems props are pretty much the same.Last edited by KnightTemplar; 03-31-2022, 11:56 PM.Comment

The added animated boards are nice in created stadiums and helps them pass as a real park a little better than last year. The lack of any sort of team related graphics or signage is a huge bummer. The dugouts could have some sort of graphics on them. No logos on the field at all. It's just really feels like your not playing on a mlb field with the major lack of signage.2016 NLL Champion Saskatchewan Rush

Ok….went to vault and down loaded live roster. Freeman, Kershaw on LA, Olson on ATL, etc.Comment

Noticed quite a few roster errors and missing players. Played a DD thing with Cedric Mullins and they talked about making time to get some crab cakes while in Maryland, pretty sweet.

Re: MLB The Show 22 - (PS5/Xbox Series X|S) Impressions
Earlier this evening the PS5 version became available for me to download and play and I must say, while graphically it isn't that much different than its PS4 counterpart, the smoothness of gameplay has me thinking that I'd rather play 162+ games on it versus the PS4 simply for theme music.
The difference between the two is quite noticeable in my humble opinion.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(
