To the surprise of everyone, long time Golden Knights General Manager Kelly McCrimmon stepped down due to health concerns. It was long rumored that he had been struggling with his personal health, but this all but confirms it. McCrimmon is still expected to stay on staff in a consultant role.

Owner Dave Foley and President George McPhee made a shocking announcement when they stated they have hired Halifax native Evan McCabe as the team's new General Manager. There was a lot of pushback and a recent fan poll suggested that 89% are unhappy with the decision.

So what do we know about the new GM, the 45 year old is supposedly an analytics guru and has managed two Triple A Hockey Clubs in Nova Scotia; The Valley Wildcats and The Pictou County Weeks Crushers.
