hey guys, just checking in on progress with this issue? i've been testing a little but wanted to see if anyone else was seeing any progress? I seem to have gotten the user fta to a respectable number (just had 2 games with 2 diff. teams with 38 and 31 fta) but still struggling to get the cpu to get fouled. has anyone found a way to get the cpu at the foul line a bit more?

See my post in the slider section about defensive sliders leading to more fouls and look at what I have posted. The game I posted over there my team had like 31 FTA and the CPU had 28 or 29. It's a bit of work, but worth it if you are a sim head. That's just one game I am seeing very consistent fouls, fouls shooting, bonus situations, jump shooting fouls and fouls at the basket. And 1s in all my games. I'm seeing everything except for over the back. I have even seen flagrant fouls and clear path fouls with default rosters.

all the things you mentioned i've done and mentioned before, but i still cant seem to get the cpu on the line! i dont wanna resort to just straight up hacking to get them in the bonus loool. i have seen 1 flagrant in the last week but i am getting at least 3 jumpshot fouls a game now! half the time i feel like the cpu attacks the paint and the foul animation triggers but no call :\

Fun fact: The three West teams who lost yesterday (4/16/22) shot a combined 10-45 on uncontested 3s.

The biggest disconnect between 2K defense and actual real-life defense has to do with open 3 make %. Anyone actually watching some of the playoff games so far (I've seen many of them myself), will clearly see how much of an impact that has on the game.

When open 3s go in at such an absurd rate in 2K, you cannot play aggressive help defense and have advanced rotations that real teams use. That is the truth.

have you also found a way of making free throws harder? doesnt help much if you now get 20+ free throw attempts a game when you hit then with 90 %. at least thats what we observe in our online league for the last few years, free throws go in way too easy we have a team in our league who hasnt missed a single free throw over 11 games.

They actually do since past games have been able to implement realistic fouls with the right sliders. But they just choose not to.

Some important sliders that I don't think anyone has talked about that helped me get more random fouls are:


Body Up Sensitivity
Inside Shot Contact
Driving Shot Contact


Bumping those all the way up on top of the other stuff got me a bunch more fouls.

We wanna see the ai get more random fouls too, here we are years later and the ai still does not commit or draw many fouls. . . we have the ability to lean into defenders on jump shots but the ai never does. I'm afraid our free throw dilemma won't ever be addressed [emoji848]

Yikes. That’s 22%. In 2K that number would be more like 92%. I had to lower three point sliders for CPU because at even 50 it’s just drain city.

If you adjust those sliders I mentioned (particularly body up sensitivity and contact shot) and then adjust the game sliders so that the cpu (and User AI) attempt more steals and contest more shots, I have found that I am now getting a lot more foul calls both ways.


You have to also turn foul calls up to 100 in the sliders.

For instance you can raise the foul slider that will make more possessions end up with a foul call. You can also raise the transition baskets, 3 point attempts, if bench players or stars score more, and numerous other settings that I think many have overlooked. I actually get a decent amount of fouls both ways and the CPU uses zone defenses finally.

This sounds interesting because as of today nobody has brought this up. Most think that these sliders are only relevant for simmed games but maybe you‘re onto something.
Can you share your sliders and let us know on which set it is based.
I used schnaidt1 or popboy slider for MyNBA.

idk what it is on ps5, but on PC the tab you're referring to is literally called "simulation", so i thought its fairly obvious it wouldn't affect actual gameplay. I'm willing to test tho and if it yields results ill upload them here

One thing I've done in MyNBA is I've changed the rules and lowered the amount of fouls it takes to enter the bonus, to 4. That's not realistic nor does it mirror actual NBA rules but it does help a bit in seeing more free throws.

I am late to 2k22 but do notice that a lot of fouls are called when your defnse gets beat and is behind the shooter and makes contact



havent done any testing but I imagine a slight speed boost for the cpu would help raise fta for
the cpu- not sure what else this would screw up-
cpu boost for acceleration with the ball might help as well
