kudos to bivol for showing respect to canelo in victory.....he had the advantages in this fight and definitely used them. but give credit to canelo too, going up that much in weight is a tall task and eventually the risk catches up with you. that would have been like floyd going up to middleweight to grab a title there. way too much of a risk. heck, he didn't even give manny (or oscar) a rematch, for pete's sake. and floyd betting against canelo is such a floyd move. meanwhile, his fight (against a former sparring partner?) in dubai was cancelled. basically a pay-per-view sparring session.

Zurdo might be the biggest light-heavyweight I've ever seen. It will be interesting to see how he does vs the elite of the division now that he's in line for a title shot in the near futureComment

Re: Boxing Off-Topic
Didn’t see it. I wasn’t watching the prelims but as I was doing occasionally checks on the main event I lucked into the very start of the Ennis fight (I didn’t even know he was fighting)-Seems like everything that guy touches goes down. I’m gonna see if I can watch the light heavyweight fight-I stream Showtime via prime video.Comment

Re: Boxing Off-Topic
what a display of heart and a warrior mentslity shown from both charlo and castano. Great back and forth castano in the end was just to small and in two fights could not figure out the charlo left hook counter every time castanso flurried!! there are several deficiencies in boh of them that will get them both knocked out when they fight a world class fighter!!! im noticing charlo is slowly becoming straight legged and his reaction time is slightly regressing!! castanso has to learn how to punch and defend on tue inside and I also think his his chin has almost reached that punch limit!! benavides knocks both of them out canelo knocks both of them out and tzyu knocks both of them out!! but the future is great with big fights !!THANKS FOR THE TRADE SANDIEGO KEEP RIVERS WE'LL TAKE ELIComment

Re: Boxing Off-Topic
Benavidez just too talented and big for Lemieux. Even when he was in "injured animal" mode and pressing close Lemieux couldn't pierce that defense.
EDIT: You can see why nobody wants to fight this guy. Big Charlo is just talking smack-he's not moving up to take on this monster.Last edited by JayBee74; 05-22-2022, 12:43 AM.Comment

Re: Boxing Off-Topic
If this is at 168 I fear GGG may get hurt really badly.
If it's at 160 (or even 165), then I think GGG can lose on his feet.
I hope I'm wrong, and I'm a big Golovkin slappy, but I don't see this ending with anything but retirement for him.Comment

Has the weight been confirmed yet?

Re: Boxing Off-Topic
I'm not counting GGG out in this one even though he didn't look great in his last bout. That stuff gets thrown out the window when there's a rivalry between 2 fighters who are familiar with each other. I'm a little leary of Canelo going up in weight then immediately coming back down; It can often accelerate the aging process for a fighter once he hits his 30s. We'll see. I expect a highly competitive bout similar to the first 2 and, for what it's worth, I had GGG winning both of themComment
