His journey should be a pretty big wake up call for people. Unfortunately I think it's viewed as a freak type situation, for whatever reason. "He just needs money and a chance," etc. These people are dealing mental illness and/or drug problems.

Lots of great appearances from real people. I know I spotted his brother Willy, Jose Calderon, Ant, Clarkson, Gordon, Trae, Middleton, Dr J, Doc, Dave Joerger, Mo Cheeks, Kenny, Chuck, Shaq, Ernie, Boban, Harris, Thybulle, Lowry, Maxey, Seth, Dirk, Jay Wright, Mark Jackson, Iverson, AO, Bone Collector, The Professor, Lethal Shooter, Abrines.. and I’m sure I’m missing quite a few players, Spanish players, street ballers, coaches/GMs, and media. This is the most I can remember seeing in a movie like this.

Aside from all that, Anthony Edwards played his role perfectly. Maybe he’s right, he can excel at anything lol.

The amount of cameos was staggering! I caught myself trying to figure out if I like the movie or if I'm just awestruck by all the basketball people combined with my old geezer love for Sandler, and the fact that his usual friends didn't show up. Plus the first dude I saw was Moe Wagner from Michigan and I'm like here we go
edit: Kenny Smith can act, and his character name was funny, especially knowing the LeBron company produced it

        Not sure I follow.

What’s different about his situation that we already don’t know/didn’t know about?

I really don’t get why the NBA or players union just don’t throw a few dollars in to get this guy into a legit rehab program one where he can’t just pick up and leave and one that follows through with his progression. He’s clearly an addict.

Hate to say but if/when something worse happens to him, there’s gonna be a lot of hypocritical thoughts and prayers/coulda shoulda posts on social media.

If he isn't institutionalized not sure how he can't just pick up and leave eventually. Not that I'm advocating for Delonte to be institutionalized, haven't followed the situation closely.

              I don’t know either.

But a lot of those places just pump them full of other drugs/sedatives trying to alleviate the problem.

I believe former Net Jayson Williams had a program that he worked with where he just dropped everything and stayed there getting full treatment.

All I’m saying is there should be enough money and resources to get this guy some legit help and proper rehabilitation. The league has to have some connections.

He has to want the help though. That could be a whole separate issue. Not like they can just kidnap the guy and force him to stay somewhere.

Mark Cuban took him in, fully paid for his rehab, and got him a job. Various players also pitched in to the effort.

As many have seen with friends & family suffering from mental health issues/ addiction, Sometimes they just can’t get out of their own way….and unfortunately, it’s nothing that can be forced on him…

The majority of these stories with happy endings include setbacks….Just have to hope he turns things around.

And in these cases, they always take 2 steps forward and 3 steps back.

I just hope folks don’t give up on him.

                      Are you kidding me?
Hornets forward Montrezl Harrell, who is set to become a free agent this summer, is facing a felony drug charge after police say they found three pounds of marijuana in his car.

Felony Charges? I thought we were done with this dumb ****.

The laws around marijuana have been messed up for years.. but until that’s not the case it’s really not that hard to just not have it in places you aren’t supposed to have it. I never understand why some dudes risk getting mixed up with stuff like that and potentially lose millions of dollars over some ****ing weed. It just blows my mind honestly.

Felony charges over weed in 2022 is ridiculous, but 3 ****ing pounds in vacuum sealed bags? Bro why. Just don’t smh.

He probably got too used to driving with weed in LA that he forgot that he's not in LA and can't do that anymore.
