Re: Shredder’s Revenge
Been enjoying the game a lot there are a lot of call backs to Turtles in time and games soundtrack is great. Been playing on switch I alway like physical copies and was going to wait but I gave in. I do have a physical copy coming on ps4 so double dipping something I never do. I have been playing on normal beat story mode 1 time by my self. Beat it once last night with a friend who I was hanging out with and beat it one time online with a few people. I have only played 6 people one time has seems like most of the time online I only end up with 1-2 people joining me. I think next time I will play on hard. Not sure who my favorite character is. My only disappointment is the last like 2-3 bosses are not that good. Playing this put me into a tent mood. I just watched the first 3 TMNT movies again over the last week or so and even watched the cartoon movie from 2007 that I had only seen 1-2 times and didn't really remember. Didn't realize that the voice actor for Ratchet from ratchet and clank did one of the voices in that one. Just watched the first Micheal bay one again 2 nights ago had forgotten a lot of it its my favorite of the movies. I was only 1 when the first TMNT movie came out in 1990. I have thought about buying streets of rage 4 being its made by the same people and I have played it a few times at a friends house and thought it was pretty cool game to.Last edited by Smallville102001; 06-27-2022, 10:40 PM.Comment

Re: Shredder’s Revenge
Is this an online MP game, and is there cross-platform MP?
It looks like a lot of the levels are from Turtles In Time. Is this a game that was made before TIT (hehe) in arcades, or is this a re-imagining of that game with an arcade style to it?Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Shredder’s Revenge
If you haven't seen the preview videos, hear 6-player and think "but wait, there's only four turtles".....yeah. There's a few extra playables in thereComment

Re: Shredder’s Revenge
I believe this is only cross platform between Xbox and PC. There is still online multiplayer on PlayStation for sure (and I think Switch too?) but not cross platform there.Comment

Re: Shredder’s Revenge
The cross platform in general needs some work.
If you are on Steam and your friend has it on gamepass, then you can't (easily) link up. The only way to do it that I have found is to create a public party and then have your friend try to find your game (closing out and refreshing the list multiple times until they find you).
Otherwise a very fun game.Comment

Re: Shredder’s Revenge
I don't usually buy these kind of games, but somehow this one has my interest. I'll prob wit for a sale as I just got the new ps+ with alot of games to play. It was odd that I a arcade I went to had the old games so put a few bucks in those and enjoyed them.Retro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

Re: Shredder’s Revenge
I don't know how much TMNT: Turtles In Time cost on SNES at the time, but I'm sure you could finish that game within an hour. Anyway, the point there is that one would simply replay that game over and over and over again.
It's interesting to hear this one is three hours, though. Will someone sit down with you for three hours to finish the entire thing? Will you get exhausted at some point? Can you save your progress and pick it up later with the same person? I assumed the game was another 50-60 minute finish like Turtles In Time was. Just goes to show how little I actually know about this title (didn't know the price either, for that matter).Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Shredder’s Revenge
Yes you can save your progress and pick the game back up later. Did this with a friend. We did about half of the story on the first night then came back a few days later to finish.
The game is very easy in the basic story mode, but there is a higher difficulty as well as an arcade mode where I believe you go through the game with a limited number of lives (basically how you would have played the snes version) for a more challenging experience.
You also level up each character as you play the, unlocking more special abilities.
So overall there is value in playing it multiple times if you want to give yourself that extra challenge, but how much value that provides will depend on the individual

Re: Shredder’s Revenge
Broadly speaking, it really strikes that balance between feeling new yet so strangely familiar at the same time.
I think I bought it for $25 via digital download (and heard it's on Game Pass). Moreover, I beat the story over five days or so and don't feel like I'm close to being done with it. I'll definitely be going back through the story mode with each character (to max their own powers) while trying to complete all the challenges I missed along the way.
Three hours to complete the story is probably close to the longest for any TMNT side scroller that ever existed. This is definitely one of those super replayable SNES type throwbacks, where beating the story isn't as much of the point as just teaming up, beating some Foot Clan senseless, and having a good time.

Story mode includes the same 16 levels but comes with a top map that saves your progress (think Super Mario World). I beat a couple levels the first night, then came back and chipped away at it over multiple days until I beat the game with Leonardo yesterday, maxing his power up to 10 along the way. Now I'm going to dive back through for a second replay with Michelangelo this time, teaming up with my GF.
I haven't touched Arcade yet because I worried that would be the classic "play through in one single sitting" mode and I knew I wouldn't be able to do that. But maybe it has a save feature too, just no map and individual turtle level-ups.
Whatever the case, I have zero regrets for a $25 purchase. So much nostalgic fun. It's like the cartoon I watched as a child finally came to life, right on down to some of its most obscure references.Comment
