Re: Franchise Immersion Wishlist
I'd like the ability to structure contracts similar to what NFL2k5's franchise mode offered.
NFL2k5 gave you the ability to put frontloaded, backloaded, balanced, etc contracts on the table along with a salary CAP forecast that showed how the contract would impact the team's CAP over the duration of the offer.
In addition to that, being able to add incentives, roster/workout bonuses, no-trade clauses, etc would also be great.
This could be a more in-depth optional feature for the hardcore franchise enthusiasts and couch CAPologists while the more casual player could enjoy the current level of contract negotiation seen in M23 so far.Comment

THE SCENARIO ENGINE NEEDS TO APPLY TO THE CPU
THE SCENARIO ENGINE NEEDS TO APPLY TO THE CPU
and
THE SCENARIO ENGINE NEEDS TO APPLY FOR THE CPU
It kills the balance in user vs CPU leagues. Also integrate those scenarios with the news stories. Would give the league more life to know what's going on with different teams and players.
More crazy scenarios. Holdouts and trades comes to mind. We have early retirements so why not.
Retired players becoming coaches.
Coaching tree expansion. If a head coach gets signed to be a coordinator he has no skills that carry over. Each coach should have access to all trees and it should be greatly expanded.
A true career mode where you can become a player, to coach, to owner all in one long continuous career.
Custom portraits. WWE 2k22 did it. Madden should as well and a more in depth player creater.
The ability to compare 2 players side by side. It's in MUT. It should be in franchise.
There's still way too much info hidden in too many menus.
The regression screen. Bring it back. Actually move it to the time between the draft and the preseason and call it minicamp or training camp. That's when regression would occur as well as dev trait changes.
The ability to set how many abilities players can get. In the front end the limit is five but only 2 in franchise.

Yes!!! I ended up ignoring all scenarios last year because it was too tedious to go through all 32 teams each week last year. Plus user controlled CPU teams don’t trade with each other so I want to only have a character attached through the preseason.

Re: Franchise Immersion Wishlist
Just posted my short beta impressions comment and would like to add Game Speed as an attribute. Speed has been king in Madden since forever and I think this would eliminate the auto elite feeling of players with 99 speed. Plenty of players run the 40 with near record times, but it doesn't translate to on field game speed for multiple reasons. Tying this into awareness, agility, speed, and acc ratings may be the fix. Just get a good medium of these combinations of ratings factored together to make a game speed rtg. I know it took forever to get more fluid animations, foot planting, etc., but I feel once the animations are at a good base, it should be added.
As of now, a player can run a 4.2 or 4.3 in combine and pro day, and still not have the fastest speed in game with no rhyme or reason to it. Shooting for the stars tied to another universe probably, but wanted to share.

Re: Franchise Immersion Wishlist
I'm liking so many things said and wanted. I been saying we need a injury system that's matters as well as anamations to go with the injuries. As is it's all canned and fake. I want to see players stats and award history in scouting. I want to see players stats in FA, As it's been we are signing players based on their names and Ratings. We should be able to see everything about every player at anytime to give us that reason for paying him and what we feel like they can bring to our teams. Superbowls won and the year as well as Probowls with the years he attended. His stats over his career and what he was to that team before. It needs to be deeper in Scouting and the Draft we should be able to have players walk the stage and hold the jersey up with the Commissioner for the whole first round with boos and cheers for all teams. Then go back to the system as is for the reminder of the draft. My thoughts well been my thoughts in my wishlist I put out as well. This can be added in their three patch system they do if they even do it. Come on EAComment

Re: Franchise Immersion Wishlist
Get rid of spreadsheets to the extent possible (clearly, certain things like financials require them), replace with more immersive presentation such as scouting reports which can be compared. It is not immersive to think of your team as a list of numbers.
Add personality traits and build an in-depth system of how they interact with one another. Franchise Mode should be a people and resource managing game, not a number management game. There are two types of people on OS: Those who disagree with me, and those who agree.
The first kind is wrong. The second is superfluous.

Re: Franchise Immersion Wishlist
I'd like to see varied approaches to how cpu teams utilize their running backs and distribute touches.
Maybe a few different types that dynamically shift throughout the season and even during a game:
Featured Back - One workhorse who dominates touches and is only relieved for fatigue.
Committee (balanced) - Two or more backs splitting carries.
Committee (situational) - Two or more backs getting touches based on situations i.e short yardage, passing downs, goalline, etc.
Committee (hot hand) - Starts off as 'Committee (balanced or situational), but the back that's having the most success starts getting the bulk of the work.
A team's backfield management can shift between the four types throughout the season and/or during a game depending on injuries, performance, skillset/scheme fit, coach, etc.
For example, you might have a Committee/Hot-Hand situation where a backup emerges as a beast after stringing together dominant performances and becomes a Featured Back.
Or, a team's Featured Back suffers a serious injury, forcing the team to shift to a Committee (balanced or situational) to fill the void.
This creates organic, season-long narratives that playout for all 32 teams and adds a ton of depth , immersion and replayability.Comment

Re: Franchise Immersion Wishlist
1. Can we get real football positions for once, at least as an option in offline/online CFMs ?
No reason we should still be putting our "WR1" at the top of the "WR" depth chart, instead of having actual WR positions.
Q (Quarterback)
B / T (Halfbacks / Fullbacks)
X (Mostly back-side WR)
A / H (Mostly Slot WRs / Halfbacks)
Y (Mostly TEs)
Z (Mostly play-side WR)
LT / LG / C / RG / RT
Play calls should automatically flip where the WRs line up so that you don't have to do silly package changes or formation subs just to get your best WR to stay as your "X" WR. Can also allow for customization because some systems use "F" as a wideout rather than A or Z.
Fronts (30 / 40 / 50)
SE (Strong-side End/Edge)
N (Nose Tackle)
T (Defensive Tackle)
WE (Weak-side End/Edge)
Sam (Strong-side Linebacker)
Mike (Middle Linebacker)
Will (Weak-side Linebacker)
Star / Rover / Nickle (Strong-Safety / Nickle Cornerback)
SCB (Strong-side CB) *if the team chooses to follow certain WRs*
WCB (Weak-side CB) *if the team chooses to follow certain WRs*
FS (Free Safety)
"Auto Defensive Flip" shouldn't even be a thing in Madden because with true positions your defense would all line up in their correct places based on the offensive formation. Offense comes out in Twins Left? Your Sam is aligned to the strong side of the formation and your Will is on the opposite side in the correct positions.
Then you can add more to play-calling by adding various checks for your defense.
This would also drastically improve the free agent process because it would separate the silly "OLB/DE" crap that's plagued Madden for years.
2. One thing I've wanted/needed in football games *Madden* is a fundamental foundation of football knowledge embedded into the game. Gaps/Assignments/Football logic. As of now, the players on the field kind of just do things aimlessly because they have no true realistic idea of what they should be doing on the field at all times. There are no true fronts on defense and DL don't have any actual assignments or roles each play. They just run forward and disengage when they feel like it based on ratings (or if you hold turbo.. lol). What needs to be implemented and taught to everyone is actual football assignments and roles at each position.
What is a 0-technique? 3-technique? 1-gap/2-gap defense. read steps for LBs. DBs that backpedal and play to their technique & coverage assignment and reacting to routes/concepts rather than the AI underneath just knowing what the offense is running and sprinting to zones/man assignments. OL should have set assignments based on the defensive front/look.
Madden used to have create-a-play and in that mode, you had a gridded board to plug in where you wanted players to be at pre-snap and what you wanted them to do post-snap. EA needs to basically implement that behind the scenes for true football assignments. Each defensive play should have a preset fronts/alignment vs various offensive formations, with the ability to change them manually either in the play-call screen or pre-snap. There should be a tiered play-call system that lets you set the front and then call the coverage. Coverages should also have way more variety. Madden as of now is basically creating plays as fast as you can before the offense snaps the ball. Why do all of that instead of just having a large variety of coverage calls built into defensive playbooks and give us more realistic options pre-snap like communicating to your defense what you believe the offensive goal is or keying in on a specific player for your DBs, etc.
If the game had football fundamentals in place, you wouldn't see as many random wacky movements and plays by the AI. As of now, they kind of run around trying to figure out what to do before & after a certain point when their initial script is played out. OL don't know who to block because they have no assignments, it's just block whoever is in front of you. There's what, 3 plays with OL doing something other than run straight? Trap, power, counter. And I think counter isn't even that sophisticated.
3. The progression system in Madden has got to be the worst possible type of a progression system you could have in a sports video game. People in real life are not all on the same exact schedule when it comes to how quickly or easily they get better or worse. Every single person in the NFL is on a completely different time frame when it comes to their progression and regression in the league. Each individual player in Madden should have their own (HIDDEN) progression & regression schedule with extra factors that can affect their progression & regression schedule such as injuries, production, and morale.
But since we most likely won't get a complete revamp to the system, the least we could get is a regression slider that can be used to determine how drastic regression hits players
4. Stadium Atmosphere
Weather conditions are virtually nonexistent in a Next Gen football game made by a billion-dollar company in the year 2022. That in itself is insane.
The weather in the game also still looks like it was made in 2010.
Crowd noise needs a complete overhaul. Crowd reactions to every type of a play on the field should be noticeable.

Re: Franchise Immersion Wishlist
With respect to player position changes, one point to note:
The NFL - NFLPA Collective Bargaining Agreement makes no direct mention of or indirect allusion to the concept of an edge defender vs off-ball linebacker. Literally the franchise tag valuations are defined for "Linebacker", "Interior Defensive Line", and "Defensive End" with no regard for team scheme or how the player is deployed during games. To that end, speaking to official player position listings (as listed by literally the NFL itself) and accurate contract economics in Franchise mode, the archaic positions must remain in the game. I have to imagine the developer's hands are tied here somewhat by literally the provider of their source material.
Insofar as playbooks and depth charts are concerned, though? Hell yes, give me more actual football. Refactoring playbooks and depth charts to use actual football positions would allow Tiburon to ditch a number of band-aids they have added over the years to make the game behave more like real football (ex. the intentional DT1 - DT2 swap in 4-3 Under but only with no right stick package subs, the SLWR depth chart position, etc.)Comment
