Re: Graphics or performance mode?
I do graphics, but that's probably because I'm not a pro 1337 gamer.https://forums.operationsports.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2049813056Originally posted by Therebelyell626I am going to create a team called "the happy town fundament rapscallions" and hurt your already diminishing image

Re: Graphics or performance mode?
PS5 on graphics mode had cutscenes in 30FPS while performance keeps us locked at 60FPS so I always prefer that. Not enough graphic difference to sacrifice frame rate imo. But it’s always up to the person what they prefer.Comment

Re: Graphics or performance mode?
Last year, I couldn't tell any difference between the two modes on PS5. I don't know if there is any difference on XSX or not but I doubt it. Graphics mode might be worth it if you're trying to get a lot of screenshots maybe.Comment

Re: Graphics or performance mode?
Graphics mode on Xbox Series X still is 120fps according to my LG TV game optimizer mode FPS counter. PS5 is locked to 60 like last year. Heck I think every sports game on PS5 is hard locked to 60 for the max.Comment

Re: Graphics or performance mode?
Thanks to everyone who replied. I gotta dig deeper into my tv. I think motion rate is 120 but 4K only goes to 60fps or something like that. I only use it for playing Madden and watching football so forget the specs. I played a few games on graphics and it seemed fine. I’ll try a few on performance and see if it feels different. I don’t take screenshots or stream so if performance benefit is noticeable I’m good with lesser graphics.Comment

Re: Graphics or performance mode?
Performance mode XSX running at 120fps. With M22 If I used graphics mode, the cut scenes were not as smooth.
My Samsung S95b does show 120fps on graphics mode but I don't think that's accurate, even with freesync on. (although I don't notice much difference, need to see if it changes during cutscenes)
Edit: to me, performace mode is much more smooth, at least on my tvLast edited by MizzouRah; 08-16-2022, 07:52 AM.Comment

Re: Graphics or performance mode?
My LG TV fps counter shows MLB The Show running at 120 fps when VRR and 120Hz is activated within PS5 menu. Do you see that as well?

Re: Graphics or performance mode?
I'm on xbox series X and I keep it on performance mode. I noticed the same thing as TheBleedingRed where cutscenes are 30fps on graphics mode and it looks really bad. Solid 60fps is way better for me and I didn't notice the graphics being significantly better when i tested it.Comment

Re: Graphics or performance mode?
FYI if you have a 120fps capable TV and you set your game system to output 120 that doesn't necessarily mean it is running at 120 all the time. It's possible your TV reports 120 but the game is rendering it at 60 or even 30 at some points and your panel/TV would still say 120. Without tools to actually monitor the fps from the game like we have on PC, you have to rely on what you see. So just cause it says 120 doesn't mean that's what you are getting. It's game dependent as to how close it actually get's to filling up the 120 capability.Comment

Re: Graphics or performance mode?
I'm on Series X and there is a difference in graphics between Image Quality and Performance. The only way I can describe it would be that the graphics in Performance mode look more like what you would see on TV; whereas Image Quality is what you would see being in person. But, I personally like that look in Performance mode. They both look really good on my TV."Dunks are tough, but when a 35 footer come rainin out the sky...it'll wire you up"Comment

Re: Graphics or performance mode?
this isnt true, at least not for 2022 samsung 800B/900B TVs.. they have an FPS counter (just like some computer monitors now have).FYI if you have a 120fps capable TV and you set your game system to output 120 that doesn't necessarily mean it is running at 120 all the time. if i'm on a game (using COD as an example) and it caps at 120fps but truly bounces between 105-120 in actual gameplay, my tv shows that accurately in realtime. same for 60fps or and other fps. my TV reports it on a game bar panel.NFL - RAVENS
