The Detroit Lions are entering one more rebuild after the sudden and abrupt resignation of head coach Dan Campbell just weeks before the start of the 2022 regular season.
In a hastily called together press conference, Campbell made it clear that just like when he was a player, he knows when his heart just isn't in coaching anymore and for whatever reason, his heart was no longer in it.
In his place, the Lions have named former Regis University head coach Bo Vandy who was an offensive analyst for the Lions heading into the season and who some Lions insiders thought was a candidate to be a head coach in waiting alongside Duce Staley.
It should surprise no one that Staley announced not long after Campbell announced his resignation that he too was going to be looking for other opportunities.
That will allow Vandy to put together his own staff and try to build from the ground up again.
