Pumped for 3-click swing. Would've been perfect for the Switch version, but I see they aren't releasing on Switch this time.

Re: PGA Tour 2K23 Releases on October 14 - Trailer and Video Interview
But still, 20 in 2K's game is a decent increase from the 15 that were in 2K21 at launch, and they added courses from across the pond and outside the US, which were sorely missing.Last edited by MrArlingtonBeach; 08-22-2022, 10:29 AM.Orbis Non SuficitComment

Re: PGA Tour 2K23 Releases on October 14 - Trailer and Video Interview
TGCTours didn't include switch players due to how they pull the scores. I think 2K's servers stopped sending new courses designed on Switch across all platforms way back in March or something like that, too. I think lag was a much bigger problem on the Switch, too...it sounded like courses designed on the other consoles were more difficult for the Switch to run.
So just a hunch that Switch didn't have a ton of players on it.Last edited by MrArlingtonBeach; 08-22-2022, 10:32 AM.Orbis Non SuficitComment

Nice to see 3 click swing implemented. I hope that is customizable as to the speed of the bar and the size of the sweet spot. I would still probably play using the swing stick especially if they managed to iron out the quirks.Comment

Re: PGA Tour 2K23 Releases on October 14 - Trailer and Video Interview
Just digesting all this, but here are some first impression thoughts...
The Good:
- playable pros, including female golfers (and a decent list at that)
- caddies are in
- 3-click swing included
- 20 courses, including some not in the US
- sounds like lots of brands/gear (Nike, Scotty Cameron to me are the big adds)
- new objects are added to the course designer
- playable Michael Jordan? OK!
The Bad
- looks slightly better graphically, but probably not the jump most are hoping for
- not a surprise, but a big focus on the "casual" side of things
- very little in terms of career mode details
The Ugly
- I don't like the sounds of "consumable golf ball sleeves"...has the same feel as WGT mobile game stuff in terms of DLC
- the trailer they posted...has no audio. Typical.
Still sorting thru the info at all the different info in all the different places, but this is what I picked up off the bat.Comment

Missed this earlier but Arlington called it out… Caddies!
I wonder if that is cut scene only or if they will walk the course with you. Regardless pretty awesome add.
I didn’t see that picture of MJ earlier but that is pretty cool as well.
I’m irrationally excited about all of the new gear (Nike, TW Collection) being in the game.Comment

I also just read/realized that 2K23 will NOT be cross-platform in terms of multiplayer play.
Those who pre-order the game will also get Michael Jordan. The basketball star famously quit baseball for a little while to become a golfer.
"The announcement, however, also notes that multiplayer will only be playable with the same console and across generations. Therefore, cross play will not be supported between PlayStation and Xbox."
I would add that to my "Bad" section...hahaLast edited by MrArlingtonBeach; 08-22-2022, 11:15 AM.Orbis Non SuficitComment

Educated guess...not many people played it on Switch.

Re: PGA Tour 2K23 Releases on October 14 - Video Interview With Tiger Woods
This is the only thing I learned today that surprised me. I thought 2K/HB were just dead set against it. I haven't used 3-click for anything more than a trial since PGA Championship Golf 2000 came out on the PC, and that moved me to analog swings forever. I'm glad to see this as I know there are enough players out there who will only play with 3-click, and that will definitely grow the market for the game.
What I have to wonder though is this... how will they handle matchmaking in their online multiplayer? I think there would be a lack of parity between 3-click players, and tempo based analog thumbstick swing players. Would there be a separate lobby for 3-click players and analog players? Also, I'd imagine there'd have to be a 3-click only official 2K Society? It'll be interesting to see how they handle this.Duke Football? Hell yes it's Duke Football! --- Coach CutcliffeComment

This is something that's hard to gauge looking at a compressed Twitter video, and would only have its benefit realized while actually playing the game and feeling more responsive thumbstick control.Duke Football? Hell yes it's Duke Football! --- Coach CutcliffeComment
