    Coach Mode/Spectator Mode Play

I know that there are a few of us up here who primarily play the game this way. The way we see the game, or the way the game plays out is kind of different for us as opposed to the User because we really don't have much input in the outcome of the play on the field. So, I wanted to start a thread to see what you guys are seeing on the field. Are the rate of INT's throw by the AI the same as it is in User v CPU games? How is the running game looking to you? Penalties? Whatever...I'm testing some things in Franchise Mode test run while I wait for the Week 1 roster. What are yall up to?

The game looks even more beautiful in this mode. Also, gameplay seems much more realistic. What I mean by that is more errant passes by average/bad QBs, etc. You can instantly tell the difference between someone like Zach Wilson opposed to Mahomes. Naysayers, give it a shot and you won’t be disappointed. Settings: All pro default except the interception slider which is on 5.

I agree it does seem to play more realistic. I am loving the players acting like the real players.

Has anyone found a way to get a realistic amount of penalties? Also, are you seeing the QB scramble?

So I'm doing some testing with two teams, the Falcons and the Lions within Franchise Mode, and what I've done in an attempt to get more penalties is go in and edit each individual player Penalty Trait and set it to Undisciplined. I've also started playing without the Accelerated clock. This has yielded about 7-8 penalties a game for me. Some more some less at time.

I've also definitely seen the QB's scramble too without having to edit anything.

I am a big fan of coach mode. I started my Saints franchise on PC with the Start Today mod as well as Sabo's Gameplay mod. I have yet to see Jameis Winston scramble. He just stands there like a statue and gets sacked. In the second preseason game against GB, he was sacked 5 times in a quarter and a half(15:00 quarters with accelerated clock to 15 seconds). After the fifth sack, I just turned it off. It's a shame because I am enjoying the game otherwise. The mods really add to it. Network mods, field, jumbotron, and stadium mods. Uniform mods with the new helmets introduced this year. If only I could figure out how to make the QB move around in the pocket and scramble when necessary on coach mode, it would be really great.

I honestly wouldn't play coach mode in Madden when you can simply get better results in CPU vs CPU games Slow Sim watched.

I can tell you honestly they do scramble and move around in the pocket on CPU VS CPU

I think coach mode is still too dependent on user input for the QB'S because it's not a true coach mode anymore like you got in Head Coach by EA.

Are your penalty sliders turned up as well, or is this at default penalty sliders?

I’ve watched 2 , 15 min 14 sec run off games on CPU vs CPU

And yea they scramble and it looks great. About as Normal as it ever has looked.

DeShaun Watson had 9 scrambles Burrow had 5

Never been a fan of coach mode but back on madden 18 I did a slow sim franchise and it literally produced the best most realistic stats I’ve ever seen for a season they were nearly on par in every category for the 2018 saints (the team I was using)

That packaged with formation and auto subs and proper fatigue and stuff so guys are getting their proper snap count %

                    I agree with you 100%

I play user vs CPU games but I've been preaching on here for over 5 years now that madden is on another level when you just watch CPU vs CPU games

Set your playbooks and sub packages with sliders and the game is beautiful.

The schemes and playbooks are very important though because other wise you'll be watching games with 90% passing vs 10% rushing

EA needs a true play call logic system in this game or something like synergy to track teams true run vs pass ratios or let us set it up ourselves like we can in NCAA football.

I second this post. I'd definitely recommend CPU v CPU Spectator Mode over Coach Mode and they definitely scramble as well.

The good thing about a slow sim franchise is that you can edit players to your heart's desire. If you were to SIM it would probably break the stats. But if you watch the games play out, the Stats would be very realistic, even with lower player edits. Before Madden 23 came out I did a test franchise with Madden 22 to see how long it would take to watch every single game during Week 1 of the season. It took me 2 and a half days in between spending time with family and other things. So, I'll be doing it with Madden 23 and a 32 Team Franchise.

Is there a true coach mode this year or do you still have to control one player, etc?

Thanks for the advice. I will be trying it out with a new franchise. It would be nice if we got a real coach mode to be able to call the plays each week. Focus on running more one week if the opponent has a weak run defense or the pass if they have a weak pass defense. But I guess I'll take what they give since we don't have any other alternative.

I'll go to the slider forum and see what I can find with regards to CPU vs. CPU sliders. Anyone have any suggestions on that?

Thanks again for the input and advice everyone.

Would love to have a coach mode without the QB not moving issue. CPU vs. CPU is not an option for me as I find calling the plays very fun.
