    Nascar Heat 5 Settings help

Ok, replaying career mode on this, cause I'm determined to actually complete a careerish time frame.

I'm currently in the Truck series, 1st season in this series (2nd overall). Ive got a few things about this game that I'm sure I cannot get rid of entirely, but need help trying to minimize the effects so I can enjoy this game.

    1) This is a weird glaring glitch, that I'm sure there isnt a setting, but maybe a combination is causing this. I use the 3 stage race format, and several races now....The stage will end prematurely. No caution, varying situations regarding my place in the race etc. One time it was almost 5 laps prior to the stage end, one time it was 1 lap prior. I dont know. The time it was 5 laps, I was making my way back up through the field after a green flag pit stop and was in 21st, when it ended the stage....ARRGHGHGH!!

    2) Rubberbanding effect. This is the most useless part of this game for me. I hate how I make a green flag pit stop, come out 1 Lap down. I can almost clock to the second how long until I'm flying by cars and passing the leaders. I seriously passed about 27 cars within a lap, and sure enough when I got to 5th spot (legitimately, not a lap down 5th spot) its like my car finally hit an air wall and I could not pass up. I noticed my lap times did not change during that rampage of driving, I noticed that my mph was not any higher, yet I was passing by cars like I was driving 100mph and passing a car doing 25mps.

How do I remove/limit the effect of this rubber banding. I wanna play Nascar not mario car.

    Any help?

For #1, I've never seen that happen before so I don't know.

For #2, I think it's more you being on fresh tires and just blowing by all the cars who haven't pitted yet and are on old tires and the "wall" you hit is just when pit stops have cycled through and everyone is on fresh tires. Look at your lap times in the laps before you pit and then look at your lap times in the laps after you pit.

#1 literally happens every race. Its not consistent what lap it happens, but it does. It doesn't happen for the finish of the race, only the stage endings.

#2, while I have not looked at lap times, my speed is no different down straightaways or turns. If my truck is topping out at 180 at the start of the race and Im at a good competitive pace with the other cars, later, doing the same 180, I should not be passing cars like they are standing still. I understand tire wear and such, but I have never watched a real race where someone pits during green, and comes out a lap down, and essentially laps the whole field WHILE UNDER GREEN to get the lap back and takes the lead......within in 3 laps.

        1. Its a caution. The game does not have caution replays sadly but if a caution comes out that would result in the stage ending under yellow it just skips straight to the stage ending.

        2. Its probably due to tire wear like Burghfan suggested. To alleviate it you can change some settings relating to tire wear, perhaps change tire wear to "more grip" for AI. Can't remember all of the settings off hand, but adjust any setting that lessens the importance of tire wear.

If I reduce the tire wear any more than that is, they wont have any need to pit. As of right now, I have to pit on maybe 60% of the stages and at least once, maybe 2x during the 3rd stage. Makes pit strategy at least somewhat important (barring the caution that happens right after I pit 90% of the time). I barely see the cpu cars pit as it is right now.

Yeah its a limit to the game and its AI. You won't really see different pit strategies.
But I didn't mean changing how quickly tires wear. There is a separate setting for both human and AI where you can alter how much of an impact tire fall-off has. As far as I know it won't change how often they pit. Conversely instead of changing it for the AI you can set yours to "less grip"

But when you short pit the AI you will make up a lot of ground very quickly. Its the reason why you would want to use that strategy. If it really bugs you too much, pit during the tail end of the pit cycle
