    Classic vs Form

I'm curious what percentage of players are using which, and why?

I played about 10 games with form and just switched back. I'm hoping the old stand by will give me some comfort and less int... I love the concept but my completion percentage is also terrible with form.

    Thoughts?

    Re: Classic vs Form

After 30 something games with free form just switched to classic for the last few games. Might stay on classic because free form while nice with certain passes has caused me a lot of silly INTs. The game is definitely broken when it comes to INTs on both human and cpu so classic has lowered my picks at least a little thus far. Ball seems to also come out differently from QB hands

I've played twice now and have 2 int and the cpu 2 int.

Could be I got the sugar pill but sure plays better.... so far....

Classic for me because it feels better and makes things fair vs the CPU since they don't use the new Passing mechanics.

With the new system it was confusing at 1st but after that I noticed when I played with Dak and Cooper Rush I could make the same exact type of passes with both of them

I went back to Classic kept the QBA slider at 5 and Cooper was a little more off target than Dak doing my preseason games.

It's a good idea by EA but I think they need to refine it some more and make it more ratings based as opposed to user stick skill

          Re: Classic vs Form

My main reasons for sticking with the classic system is because I'm really not interested in user skill in that area of the game to a point, I can't actually see where the reticles are so that hampers things and honestly it's just another thing for me to worry about much like the vision cone was back when that was in the game.

Classic allows me to have it still be ratings based and not have to worry about "aiming" if that makes sense.

Skill based since day one. Love it. Now I got my settings where I like them where i use free form 90% of the time. It's great.

Once it clicks, freeform is really fun. Best tip I can give is to look at the spot you want to throw to and bring the reticle to that spot. When I first started I was looking at the receiver and trying to aim from there, but that resulted in a lot of overthows.

I went with "free form" and persisted with it during the first week of struggles.

It has completely changed how I attack the opposing D. I throw a much more diverse route tree now. The ability to drop one in to the corner of the EZ in a way that I couldn't before is just really fun!

I am currently using free-form with the near setting using a reticle speed of 10. I began using the far setting, but I could not get a reliable reticle speed to meet my needs. I also don’t think the increased distance on far opens up very many throws that I can’t make on near either.

The only throw I can’t seem to make, using the free-form, is a streak route when the receiver has stacked the defensive back by a full step. The trajectory of the ball just seems to be too low which allows the defensive player to reliably defend from a trail position. I can make the throw using the highball modifier, but it’s not the “RAC” animation I’m looking for. I might just need a faster receiver, idk.

I'm using the new passing system as well. Likely not utilizing it how it was intended, as I mostly just pass by "feel", but that said, i think it's a pretty cool addition, and am experimenting with it as my cfm goes along.

Yeah the go route routinely gets defended or picked for me. It’s not a money route in real life either though so…

Free form. I really only use L2 on a few occasions. Most frequently to throw it “away” when I would be too slow hitting R3.

Don’t use the free form in this instance. Use the left bumper for the high throw. That will give you what you are looking for. I get the RAC animation all the time using the high throw.

The more I use free form, the more I think EA may let the interception issue hang around for a bit. They may be trying to force people to try free form.

Free form, but I don't use it every throw. You're not supposed to. Some games I only hit L2 and throw a Free Form pass 5 times our of 30 attempts. Other games I'll have 27 pass attempts and use Free Form on 10 of them.

For those struggling with go routes, make sure you're actually using Free Form and are leading the ball downfield enough and towards the sideline. And don't throw bullets on go routes. The go is definitely a route I use Free Form neatly every time with and I've yet to throw a pick on the route through near 40 games.
