Need tips on Stopping CPU steal attempts

Hey idk if anyone is still playing but I haven’t played the show consistently in like 3 years even though I have bought the last 2 but just never really played them due to having other games. I’m on the PS5 and I’m truly struggling to stop CPU steal attempts like no matter what I do or the speed of the player it’s legit like every time they steal attempt on me it’s successful. Idk if I am slow or doing something wrong but I need help please give me some advice on what I can do stop getting bases stolen on me with ease, my main catchers arm is only a 65 so maybe that is the reason but still idk I need help and thanks

Not gonna lie I have a lot of trouble stealing bases compared to the cpu.. it’s like they get the perfect jump every single time and I play on all star default

Re: Need tips on Stopping CPU steal attempts

I'll be honest I very rarely slide step and never pitch out. What I do when a speedy runner is on base is just be annoying. If I see them take a step, I'm throwing over 80% of the time to keep them honest. I'll try to throw mostly fastballs or pitches that the catcher can easily handle. If they do try stealing usually as long as it's a clean pitch, I get them more than half the time, though I do use meter throwing so this may be why.

I'd probably see even more sucess if I did integrate the sidestep but I have honestly just had bad experiences with pitch accuracy when I use it. My best advice is to just keep them honest, don't be afraid to throw over to first base a few times, CPU loves to do it so I do it right back to them. Other than that, I'd say try to simplify the pitches you throw with a speedy guy on first, I'm not sure how much pitch speed matters in the show but, like I said I have decent success this way.
