No double team?

I am on superstar level, using the greek freak and dominate whole first quarter against celtics, but CPU doesn't seem to notice greek freak is greek freak, they didn' react at all much, by even putting danilo on him...do u guys agree CPU should take note of this and start doubling to stop the bleeding for a bit first?

playing mostly with the lakers, Lebron gets double team after scoring a bunch and AD gets a lot of doubles when getting the ball in the post, even from the start of the game

Get doubles on Jordan all the time, and Pippen recently, too.

In eras classic mode they double a ton. The modern era mode seems to have a lot less doubles. I’m assuming you’re on the classic era?

Interesting to see everyone is experiencing something different. I wonder what exactly controls double teams and if there's a way we can "rig" it somehow to activate for different coaches and whatnot

Absolutely.

I only buy the game for classic teams. Don't touch modern rosters.

Go to the Coaching Controller Settings and turn on / up the "Help Defense" settings.
On the "Modern Era" teams they are all currently set to "0" out of the box. Try changing them to at Least 50. I did that and saw increased doubling in the post on high offensive scorers like Shaq ( in ERA play) and on most post scorer's I saw in Modern Era.

this is correct, da czar said so himself in the impressions thread. 50 is baseline, but alot of people seeing success at 75

Makes no difference on current gen. Even with help D set to 100, there are no double teams.

- before 3pt line
- if a player got hot

I get a lot of DT on the post....and on the paint...but I never see one as I cross the half court line....

huh, so cpu double team now if u got a mismatch to attack them!?!?

CPU is still bad to recognize; my suggestion lower below 50 "Interior Defense" rating with roster editing and try to play a game....

Actually on PC I found the Double Team Frequency slider....





I found the way to change it using Cheat Engine, for home & away teams, below the mini tutorial:

Open NBA 2k20-2k23
Open Cheat Engine and attach in to NBA 2K
Start the game and go into coach sliders



look for new scan value "50":



increment the Help Defense to "51" and perform a next scan to the same value:



...you will get just one memory address:



...this is what we're looking for so look for memory around this memory map:



I usually put:
Home & Away Help: 160
Home & Away Double Teams: 190

.....this will also make CPU use more "TRAP" defense call....both half court and full court.....but just experiment with other values.
I usually keep lower values for exhibition and higher values for playoff games....
