Ok I'm really loving playing NBA 2k23 on my ps5 especially the My NBA Era section. What's bothering me is the changing of jerseys and courts don't coincidence with each other. I particularly ply the Kobe Era being that's the Era I grew up watching but when the rule changes occur a lot of teams will have updated jerseys but no updated courts to match the changes or a team will relocate and the fans clothing will turn black for some reason. This is killing the immersion for me because of the endless possibilities of drafting players to any team and creating what if scenarios. Is anyone else experiencing these issues with the game because there needs to be another patch created to fix this. This seems to be happening with New Orleans Hornets after they become the Pelicans I'm unsure about the Sonics moving to OKC or the New Jersey Nets moving to Brooklyn. The other examples are a number of teams that updated their jerseys but keep their previous courts from the early 2000s unless the mode has to be played past a certain year to recognize the change in eras I'm unsure.

I get it, we all dealing with some feelings of the "immersion" but for this year you HAVE to play some bit of fairytale.
When it comes to courts, the community is working on doing hella updates. Hell, I'm in the 90s myself and there are a few courts that they are missing but we have created some to go with their branding. Remember, there are solutions.. go into NBA2K Design and see what the community created..im pretty sure the content is there.
If you are also feeling "Well we shouldn't have to do that", read up on the MyNBA Era blog again. They added 100 courts.. now we know we need more but they never said they added every one of them. Luckily adding the "Custom" content wont override the changes so again, thats a plus.
This mode is in Year 1 but there are definitely ways where you can overcome the issues that they have. Again, immersion is only good when you can also create storylines with it. The whole "What If" is only good when you can take what your given and run with it in a different way. -

There are also some uniforms missing in the eras.
Indiana 1981-1985 Home/Away (worn during Jordan's rookie year)
Denver 1982-1985 (worn during Jordan's rookie year)
Atlanta 1992-95 Home/Away
Atlanta 1994-98 Black Alternate
Philadelphia 1994-97 Home/Away (The Iverson Rookie Jersey)
Clippers 1990-2000 Home/Away
New Jersey 1999-2005 Gray Alternate (worn in 2002 Finals)
Utah 1999-2004 Black Alternate

The Nets move to Prudential Center isn’t acknowledged in 2010-11 and 2011-12. They never get their red alternates from 2007. They remain in East Rutherford until the move to Brooklyn.
All this is fixable with the ability to create courts, so it doesn’t bother me.Comment

For sure, those Carolina alts are one of my favs and I like the early 2000 Nets set but I'd like to have the Navy, Red, and Greys to use together through a season. Seems like either the red or grey is left out at times.
It also seems like it took them a while after adding the classic teams to even fix things like the Mavs for example using the navy road jersey before changing to the lighter blue in 2010. Up until like 2017 or 18, either the classic team used the lighter blue road jersey or you could only use the navy with the classic team but wasn't included in the teams full jersey lineup.
One of the biggest misteps, regardless of the general consensus on most of the Nike jerseys, is that with the new jerseys coming and going each year, it makes no sense for those not to be included in each game over time. This is especially the case when many of the earned and city jerseys each year build off of a similar design from previous years. For example, I'd probably rebrand the Heat if all of the Vice blue, black, pink, and white jerseys were all in the game at the same time!Comment

You could probably start up a separate myERA with the modern teams and export the branding and then reupload it in your current one. Doesn’t solve all issues but gets you the courts and update uniforms in theory.
Haven’t tried this but it seems like the possibility is there to fix some immersive issues.

We gotta think these things through when it comes to why certain things are missing. Not going to lie, I thought they just couldnt get it in time but there is an actual process to adding these things in. Speaking to some team members, jerseys cannot just be put in just because they were previously worn. There is some legalities that need to be handled it seems, which makes sense.
We gotta stop saying "It makes no sense" when it comes to things like old Nike uniforms missing as we see that there is a schedule with new city editions and we get new editions every year. Nike seems to only want to promote new and current uniforms each year for city editions. I do agree that there should be a way where we could have the old ones available but, that would be more paperwork and time to figure out if Nike is pushing that back. Unless a dev wants to speak more on this situation, thats what I am taking from it.
I wishfor next year we could get the uniform situations taken cared of though.. and courts.Comment

I don't disagree with you. And being someone who works in a manufacturing environment, I understand the legalities of using and promoting a product considered to be discontinued. I was using "it makes no sense" in a hyperbolic way to express that aesthetically it should be clear why it would be logical to try and include those if possible, especially when they bring in a new feature like Eras and understanding how critical it can be to be historically accurate for the intent of a mode like that. From a business stand point, I would think it would make more sense for Nike, being the official partner, to only include jerseys they've produced/designed or to only include jerseys to be worn during the current season. This certainly seems to be coming from Nike, but I would have to disagree if it is their logic to only promote what's current. This would be different if it were concerning actual physical merch, but its a texture file in a video game that also includes retro jerseys that can no longer be purchased through the official means as well. However, I do want to say that I'm thankful for retros even existing in the game considering how other sports games handle unis. 2K leads the competition, in that regard. From a consumer stand point, obviously, we're going to want as much we can get. I'd still play the game if it handled unis like EA handles kits in FIFA, with only a home, away, and one, alt at best. If the game currently only included Nike designs or only what's current with no retros, the speculation for why some are included and some aren't would be minimal. That's not the case as it stands, though. Add to that the fact that they still included the Mamba jersey even though it hasn't been worn in-game since the bubble, I believe. So we know it's possible and the files already exist, thus leaving the room for speculation.
As you said, this is probably either a contractual move or it's done at the request of Nike, so I certainly don't intend to place blame on the devs. I'm still buying and playing the games. Just speaking my wishes into the ether, hoping that my desires for something I love to manifest into existence.Comment

idk if anyone else noticed but apparently they send the Bulls to the United Center a few years early, was simming a bit to like '92-93 and they were there already despite them not moving to it until 1994Comment
