      2022 SEASON
      WEEK 8 @ WESTERN KENTUCKY

Looking at the opposite side of the field at the WKU offense to see their QB throw 66 times in a game is beyond crazy to me. I do my best to protect our players and make sure they don't over play their position, but I'm not taking anything away from their talent on their offense.

We had a tough one today. WKU has an amazing team all around and made it really tough for us today. It was our first game to go into overtime this year and I was nervous about how my offense would respond to everything. We were able to make plays to keep us in the game and we had some good running production. Had our QB/RB duo threat go for 100 yards rushing each.

We got the win and we gotta keep pushing with this momentum. We just need one more win to be bowl eligible and that would be huge for this program and this amazing offensive squad.

          2022 SEASON
          WEEK 9 @ GEORGIA SOUTHERN

The offense struggled all day long. We couldn't move the ball no matter what we tried. We went into halftime with a scoreless game and I decided it was time to make some adjustments. I shifted to a bully ball type game and slow the pace down. We needed to give our defense a rest, so we slowed our tempo and kept running the ball the best we could.

We finally broke through and scored midway through the 3rd quarter. Centeio suffered an injury early in the 3rd but came back on the field and played through the pain and finished the game 216 yards through the air and only 24 yards on the ground. Once he was injured we cut off his run opportunities and went to more end arounds and sweeps if we wanted to mix it up from Percy running it.

Georgia Southern is a great team and their defense played tough. We are bowl eligible and moves us one step closer to leading the South. If we can keep up this offensive play and the wins, we might be able to squeak into the Conference Championship game. Coach kept us grounded after the game and told us we focus on the next game, not the end of the season. So until next week we shall celebrate tonight and get the offense back into film room Sunday.

              2022 SEASON
              WEEK 10 VS. CHARLOTTE

Not much to say about this game for our offense. We did everything right, but we just had a few miscues that cost us the game in the end. We had a turnover that made us go down by 21 early in the game but we were able to claw our way back into that and take the lead.

Then late in the game we just couldn't move the ball to keep the clock going so we could secure the win. I have to do a better job on play calling in situations like that knowing they're gonna sell out on the run and I continued to run it. We will gather ourselves and hopefully bounce back on the next one.

                  2022 SEASON
WEEK 11 @ MID TENN STATE

This one infuriates me to no end. We gave our defense the padding they needed to play comfortable and keep us out front. Instead, they completely melt down and allow one of the biggest comebacks I've ever seen. I need to take some blame with my offense not being able to move the ball quite a bit when we needed the big plays, but the defensive meltdown is unacceptable.

Once the game was over I went straight to the locker rooms and waited for the squad to come back there. Coach tried to calm me down but I told him this was it for me. I told him he needs to replace his DC, because I can't have my offense be counted on every single week to get us out of jams. I have to have the defensive support or our team will burn. I called for my offensive squad to meet me down the concourse from the locker room.

I don't want this to seem like a big deal. We have worked out butts of all year long and I'm sick of the defensive side of the team. Don't think I haven't noticed the lack of effort in practice all week. This ends this week or we will be the ones lacking effort and will force coach to make changes. I know that sounds horrible of me, but we can't continue to run ourselves into the ground with the other side not giving the same effort.

Let's pick ourselves up and get ready for the next game. If we get the same defensive effort, then we will wrap it up at first practice following week and basically tell coach that's it.

With that I told them to head back to showers and I took my leave. I didn't need to be around the staff with this anger and rotten attitude. So I would just head back to hotel and get some rest and get ready to work AGAIN on Sunday.

                    2022 Season
                    WEEK 12 STAFF MEETING

Coach Cignetti called a staff meeting to discuss the events that happened after the game on Saturday. I already could tell what was going to happen as no one would talk to me or return my messages after what I had done. I didn't care, I reached my breaking point on lack of effort.....we needed to get this turned around otherwise it wasn't going to end well. Let's see what this is all about.

Cignetti As many of you know we had a little incident this past Saturday after the game. Coach Franks took it upon his self to have a meeting with the offensive squad away from the rest of the team. At the time I was furious with Franks and wanted him off the staff immediately, but after sleeping on it and thinking long and hard about everything that was said and brought to me. He's right.....there has been a lack of effort from everyone except the offensive squad. This is MY team, I need to do a better job of making sure EVERYONE is doing their job. I've been on Franks tail all season long making sure this offense ran like a dream, but I have neglected to do the same with Coach Haines and Coach Cain. We need to get the focus on our Defense and Special Teams as well in order to succeed. Starting with today's practice and moving forward rest of the year, we are going to be working hard in all aspects of the game. We still have a chance to get a good bowl so let's shoot for winning the rest of the season!

Coach Haines and Coach Cain walked out before the end of the meeting. I couldn't believe that they were upset over the meeting when all of it was valid points. It didn't matter, I'm going to continue to do my job and get ready for this practice.

As I approached the locker rooms, I could hear what sounded like someone raising their voice. I opened the door and saw Coach Cain and Coach Haines getting their squads fired up and ready for practice.

Haines STARTING TODAY, we go to work all practice long!! No messing around, we are going to be one of the best defenses in the country for these final few games. We are going to put forth 1000% effort on every play no matter how big or small the reward is. This is a family and we need to start acting like it. We win and lose as a family and we need to do our part. So let's get out there and get to work.

Just like he said......time to get to work!

                        2022 SEASON
                        WEEK 12 VS GEORGIA STATE

What a way to bounce back after a rough rough couple of weeks for this team. We had a great practice all the way around and we were ready for this game. It showed on both sides of the ball and I couldn't of been happier. We were able to send out our 2nd string towards the end of the game to finally get those guys some playing time after struggling to get a huge late lead all year long.

We are super excited about the last two games of the season, we believe we can finish 9-3 and get a good bowl game!! I have nothing more to say, just happy we were able to come together as a unit and turn this around.

                            WEEK 13 @ MARSHALL

My squad has found their rhythm finally. We were moving the ball all game long with a few mistakes here and there nothing we can't fix. We struggled early in the 1st, but we found that groove and didn't let go of the throttle. We wanted to keep pushing as much as we could in case the defense started to get tired and allowing points to be scored by Marshall.

It looked a little worrisome late in the game, but I told my squad to keep pushing and don't worry about the score. I told them our defense is getting tired and we gotta try to make our drives longer to give them a nice rest break so we can finish this game strong. Another good win for us and I'm happy with the offensive production from Todd Centeio and Percy Agyei-Obese....that dynamic duo deserve awards!!!

                                2022 SEASON
                                WEEK 14 VS FLORIDA ATLANTIC

Final game of the regular season and we had one goal.....WIN...like always. We wanted to finish this season strong after running into a mishap few weeks ago. This one was a scary one though and there is no blame to put on anyone. Florida Atlantic is a very talented team and they came in prepared for us and it took everything we had to get the ball moving.

It came down to our defense to hold and secure the win for us and we were able to recover a fumble in the last minute of the game to seal it. Proud of our offensive squad and this whole team for the effort today. We are excited to see what the post season holds for us and we will be ready for any challenge that is given to us for this offense.
