    Pros :
    - Great new UI and cursor system that helps with workflow/speed
    - Huge spline improvements and what you can do with them.
    - New tree models look great

    Cons:
    - very little in the form of "new" assets
    - no new themes or backdrops

And here's a course designer video from a NextMaker: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5i-zQ5PMKOo
What about pot bunkers? I think I saw pots on the St. George course the links course available on the build these guys are playing. Tell you the truth I wasn't overly impressed with that either. I wonder if there will be a way for the really creative designers to find a way to get pot bunkers in the game?

I believe they've said a couple of times that pot bunkers are NOT in the designer for some technical reason. People have built them in 2K21, but it required using steps/picnic tables sunken into the ground one by one to give the revetted look. It must take days to do just the bunkers this way.

        CrazyCanuck clarified the spline updates:

"You can now spline fences which is a huge time saver. Also the ability to move, copy and join splines as well as edit them while you are laying them down in real time."

However, you CANNOT spline out of bounds...ugh.

Here's another NextMaker on the pot bunkers not being in the designer:

"The pot bunkers at Renaissance are much like the retaining walls at TPC Sawgrass, as in they are made specifically for that location on that course. It comes down to making them customizable and testing that programming asset across all locations."

So I guess at this point, they have not tested and programmed pot bunkers in all locations.

I will not put much weight in those comments, as it is on the @K site nd both have official courses in the game. I will wait to the non-interest parties have a chance to play with it and put out their opinions.

I 100% agree...but I will say, in some of the more "private" channels of discussion about 2K23, there's a lot of frustration from those who design fictional "official" courses. Apparently, many of the requested improvements that NextMakers have been asking for in the designer were simply ignored...splined fences were the only thing added that they requested.

One of those NextMakers said, due to negative UI changes in the PC game's designer (no more numerical shortcuts, camera movement no longer tied to the arrow keys), they will likely continue to design their courses in 2K21 and then port them into 2K23...

Overall, the fact that basically no new objects have been added is very unfortunate. We will have to use the same clubhouses we've been using for 5-plus years, the same buildings, the same textures, etc. The addition of splined fences is a time-saving bonus, but it's relatively minor in the whole scheme of things.

No new objects, no new themes/backgrounds, no splined out of bounds, and the fact that apparently the new trees take up more memory (meaning less objects can be used overall)...it's just another thing I am adding in the "disappointed" category...and is just another way this game is looking like a re-skinned PGA 2K21 with arcade elements added.

I have yet to see any actual videos of the new designer yet. When will creators be able to release their videos ?

At this point, I'm not expecting any videos related to the designer or online play/societies until after launch. It's been absolutely silent on that front on all channels I frequent.

And honestly, it sounds like the designer hasn't changed much at all. Yes, there will be a new interface and you can spline fences, but everything else seems like it will operate the exact same way.

Apologies if this is covered elsewhere -- ran a search and couldn't find.

To import a legacy course, that previous course must be a PUBLISHED one, correct? Unpublished old courses will not convert over?

                      Thanks in advance,

Correct, your course must be published in 2K21 for it to be able to be ported over to 2K23.
