They didn’t provide a solid date. They couldn’t even commit to a month for release. And it sounds like they really haven’t even started making a playable game yet, at this current time.

So they basically saying without outright saying it, they don't have enough people working on the game to get the game out by next year. I applaud them for writing the code from scratch and not using the messed up Madden code though. Hey we might actually get refs on the field and penalties actually happening in their game. I also figured they had work out the logistics of NIL.

I'm actually happy about this. Given the awful state of Madden (game breaking bugs) I want them to take all of the time that they need to 'hopefully' have a solid "next gen" game. I'm also hoping this means that we are less likely to get a bare bones experience that they look to build on.

Good to know. I read that as they had to secure everything from scratch, including redoing all of the stadiums etc. I did not take that as code from scratch but glad it is.

I could be wrong but, "Creating the game from scratch" does not mean that there are necessarily writing the code from scratch IMO. I feel like if folks think that they aren't using the Madden base code then they're going to be in for a huge letdown when they play the game and see a lot of the Madden gameplay issues in the NCAA game.

This is what I worried about. I am glad you read it the same way that I did. I cannot see them rewriting the code, and yes, this will be a huge letdown in many ways for most.

This isn't bad news. We've waited 10 years for a new college game, what's another year? I'd rather they release a feature-packed, deep and polished game in 2024 than a buggy skeleton version that is rushed to release in '23.

This is the right reason to delay a game's release.
