Simulation Style Franchise - Looking For Users

    What's up fellow Maddenites!

I am a long-time Madden player (literally since the beginning) and have been running a sim-league for years now with a group of friends. As life goes, not everyone is available as they once were, so we are looking to expand with a handful of new users after losing our franchise to the notorious franchise bug at the end of last year.

We have users of various skill levels, but play on All-Madden and do our best to encourage simulation play. We stream our games to the rest of the league (user vs user and user vs AI), sliders are consistently tweaked based off user stats and feedback, superstar/xfactor abilities are disabled, trades are approved via commissioner/league feedback, and we have a discord server in which we all communicate (on Madden, football, and sports in general).

We are on PS5 and typically play 2-3 games a week. Franchises in the past have lasted for the duration of the release, although users are of course free to drop. Outside of Madden, we also play FIFA, NBA 2k, and NHL as a group. If this sounds like something that is interesting and you would like to be a part of, please feel free to respond here or hit me up via DM and we can chat further.

Looking forward to adding some new users and getting this next franchise underway!

    That’s what’s up.

Which system? I have two others in a similar position. We play on Xbox X/S.

Good catch, have added to the post - we are on PS5. Unfortunate in this instance, but I hope you guys are able to find a crew over there.

What are the sliders like y’all are running with right now? Interested! I’m a sim player too. I just want to get everything as close to the real thing.

        Sounds like y’all do too!

We compile stats and update every 4 weeks typically, with a focus on balancing to try to keep stats as sim as possible (using Team Rankings for reference). We do have some different skill levels within the league from a user standpoint, so we typically balance to the median of users (and encourage the "better" players to not cheese in terms of playcall/realism). We also use playcall/cooldown limits and sim all special teams plays (in AI matchups) to help support the "sim" aspect (if AI is going to kick and miss 59 yard FGs, we do too, as these sorts of field position differences are massive). We have played through 20+ seasons over the years and never had a SB without a user, but we do have users who fail to make the playoffs (especially this year with the increase in defense). We want AI games to matter, since we usually roll with 5-8 users in a league and those are still the majority of our game. It is rare we have any users go undefeated, but it almost always comes down to user v user come playoff time.

These are the sliders we finished with at end of last year before we were unfortunately wiped by the franchise bug:

User/AI Sliders (If not listed, at default of 50)
          QB ACC - 50/47
          Pass BLK - 76/51
          WR CTH - 48/45
          RUN BLK - 48/47
          FUM - 60/47
          Pass DEF REACT - 55/44
          INT - 8/5
          PASS CVG - 55/52
          TAK - 54/50
          INJ - 25
          RGH PASS - 45

          Commissioner Settings
Staff Talent Cost Modifier - Slowest
Practice Squad Stealing - Off (We changed this end of year to allow actual development, as we were not seeing any value from stealing other than messing up AI team salary caps ).
          Playcall Cooldown - 4
          Playcall Limit - 8
Breakout Scenarios - Off (We felt this on encouraged non-sim play)
Quarter Length - 14 mins (We adjust this to stay within sim game play #s)
          Accelerated Clock - On
Min Play Clock Time - 16 seconds

Let me know if anything else you are curious about!
