What are your '23 release day plans?

Anyone do the same thing for every new release? Check out settings/rosters? Play DD? Do you take off work?

I get the download/install at midnight(ish) then head straight into an exhibition at night - NYY @ BOS. I'm the home team and will go Sale vs. Cole.

Then I stare at the clock at work until I can get home and play again while resisting temptation to read everyone's impressions (complaints) during the day.

How about you?

Release day is nearly always a day off of work for me and it will be for me tomorrow.

I am stocked-up on snacks and goodies. I am going to pop-in a Mississippi roast into the crockpot overnight and I'll be ready to go food-wise.

Game-wise, I hop around different modes early-on; probably starting early with DD and the new Storylines mode.

I took tomorrow off from work so I’ll be playing deep into the night.

My plans are the same as every year, go through rosters, look at any updated face scans, batting stances/home run animations. Check out new equipment and then jump into an exhibition game Yankees @ Mets.

Then I usually jump into DD and open any pre order bonuses. From there I am not sure yet. I want to hold off on my franchise until the roster update.

I’ll probably end up running through DD until that happens. No online, only mini seasons and conquests.

Day off from work.

Wake up. Get coffee and a bagel.

Kiss my better half and my kids and tell them I'll see them in a while.

Load it up. Peruse various teams, uniforms, stadiums, etc.

Look at other menu items in the game to see any new additions.

Decide between my handful of options as to which one will be my franchise to rebuild.

Get my settings to my liking and the start franchise!!!!!!

I will start validating all the rosters, enter all the contracts and such for every team into my excel spreadsheet to get the rosters is close to complete as possible while i await the first roster update so I can than start franchise mode

Not getting it until next week (have Resident Evil 4 coming out tomorrow so figured I didn't need to pay for it early). I always do an exhibition game as the White Sox against Cubs. It's tradition. This time though, I will be able to play at Old Comiskey Park!

9pm tonight.

Head to the CAP and see if it has been updated at all.

Go thru all the rosters, see whose there, who isn’t

Create missing players. (I don’t care about the minors as I play one season then done).

Check out the stadium creator.

Plan my fantasy team.

If there are new stadiums, check them out.

I’m in no hurry to start my season. If it’s the middle of next week, that’s fine.

Hahahahaha....I LOVE some of the replies.

If ones infomation is correct, I belive the release for the UK is next Tuesday 28th.
I cannot wait....Still actually learning about the MLB (this will be year 3) and I use the game itself as a learning tool for the real MLB.

I am a little torn about who to play as.....I love AARON JUDGE, but I have to admit I do feel a little cheeky playing as the NYY (please tell me its "okay" lol) BUT I am researching this year Baltimore Orioles, so my first day will be comparing player likenessess and looking though the attributes.

As for me... I was going to wait till Tuesday but I gave in and purchased it today, it's downloading as I type this, should be ready on release tonight. I had the month off due to a surgery and am going back to work next Thurs, I never do early release cause I don't see any point in paying extra, especially for stuff I don't really use but figured I could take advantage of the last week off so the temptation got the best of me this time.

As usual I'll be looking through rosters, seeing new faces, uniforms, checking out for anything new in the player edit screen, equipment etc etc.

Then probably play an exhibition Jays game against some random team. I'm thinking the Twins to check out their new uniforms, then whatever from there.

Well I’m working now since they sadder 15 hours to my clock and can’t play till 3pm, so yeah my release day plans are ruined so won’t start till tonight.

Going to dissent just a bit here.

For the first time in a long time, early release day is just a normal day for me. It will be a normal 12 hour work day. I did not pre-order the game this year.

Still deciding if I will buy it somewhere on standard release day. Still very much undecided at this point. Will read some comments here and discuss with a friend who is diving headfirst tonight.

The first thing I would normally do is fix the rosters to fit my needs by fixing those atrocious potentials.

If or when I get it this year, that is always the first thing.

Starting franchise, probably going to be up for 5 hours till 4AM Central and took a nap earlier to make it.

Also have already put a serious dent in the case of white claw my gf brought home after work, she looked on disapprovingly as this was hers to last the weekend.

I just got the regular version on PS5. Some of the impressions already posted....let the 4 days of FOMO begin.
