Aside of all of the glitches...the audio of this game is a joke. Play it wearing headphones or buds. The sounds and audio completely change from screen to screen. Horrendously. At the tee, you get the nature and sounds of swinging the club. As soon as your shot is in the air, the audio completely cuts to a different sound edit, in a different position in the stereo field. Incredibly choppy and jarring. Next shot (approach), same thing. It's just all so unpolished and under executed in every way. Someone mentioned how "canned" and fake the on course audio is. And it is. He sounds like a 20 year old speaking into his laptop from a covid lockdown apartment in NYC. Just fugly.

But golly it's purdy. Have I mentioned before how purdy this game is?

Check your setup for audio compatibility with the game. There’s something to adjust in the menu marked ‘audio’ that may fix the problem.

I am encouraged by this summary of impressions by a sim golfer with lots of video golf experience. It felt balanced and thoughtful.

Once I get past the fact that I can't turn off any visual aids anymore, which is fooking hard to get past, the actual difficulty is pretty hard, even on Tour mode. All shots, every single one, draw left. It doesn't matter if the feedback meter says I'm dead straight, not fast, no over or underswing...every shot fades left. I've tried to compensate by moving the target to the right, hoping it will fade left towards what I'm shooting for. Nope.

This is point and click Adventure Golf walkthrough stuff. Just suck it up, push a button, and sit back and watch the story unfold.

Thank you for that. I'll dig into it. It's very low on the totem pole for what's wrong with this game, but seriously...playing with headphones is very, very disoriented and choppy. Unfinished, unpolished. Once you're in a screen the sounds are pleasant...ambient noise, the crowd hushing down, nature/birds, etc. But every transition from hitting the tee shot to where the ball is in the air, etc, is very jarring. From full stereo standing at the tee before your shot, as soon as the ball is in the air it does a hard edit cut to the sound of "air" or "wind", way off in the right side of the stereo spectrum. Hard cut audio edits from shot to shot, and even screen to screen within a shot.

2k is looking like an old friend at this point. I'm so let down. Patch this m'fer. Now.

You can delete your golfer within the game. I couldn’t tell you the exact menu tree location but it’s there.

I play on PS5 and played early release on Monday night. Tuesday I wanted to see how Xbox version worked (I have Ultimate) and I could load the 10 hour trial since EA Play doesn’t link between Xbox and PS5. Upon loading the game on the Xbox my CAP from PS5 showed up as did all my pre-order bonuses. So that information must be kept on EA server side.

I played on Tour with no swing meter. I bumped difficulty down to Easy for the approach challenge as after an hour I could not get 10 balls on the green due to the randomness of the game. Bumping it down to easy had zero affect on anything. After another 15 minutes I gave up and settled for 2 stars instead of 3.

Anyways I changed my settings back to Tour and unchecked the swing meter option but now the swing meter won’t go away.

Now that you mention this, I noticed my created player was on both PC and XBox when I tested those out. So must be server side save.

I'm in similar situation where I did my EA trial on Xbox and now was thinking about purchasing on PS5. You have me worried things will be messed up of I do this.

Sidenote, did you see or feel any noticeable differences between Series X amd PS5? I would assume not (but I know some say PGA 2K plays better on PS5 due to controller polling points).

They say this on their website's Q&A when asked about crossplay...since they don't have crossplay, they mentioned cross-platform progression:

Cross-Platform progression is available for your created golfer so you can save your gear, outfits, and achievements to access your created golfer across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.

No.. "fix the grid" - LOL

(I hate that putting line thing -- takes the skill out of it totally, in my view)

Amazing that after decades of making golf games, EA can somehow release one where "the grid doesn't always work right"

Man...it must have been quite the fire drill to pump this thing out before the Masters

Think of it this way....every new game is a completely new invention never before seen. It is made up of thousands of lines of code seen together by hundreds of coders. Somethines these things dont work as intended.

But how could they release this obvious error?!?

Well maybe because you never did see the prior versions with lots of other errors that they DID fix before release. Just a different perspective to consider.

They are aware and will hopefully track what items causing it down.

I'm really sorry the majority isn't liking this game, but I've been having an absolute blast.

It's been really difficult dividing time between this and The Show.

Ya know...I kind of like it too. On PS5 it's got some bugs that have included a crash, some visual glitches (one set of eyebrows always seems to do it), and stuff like that. But the game itself is fun.

I'm not a 2K player, so maybe that matters. This is my first golf game in a long while and there's enough good that I can overlook the last of 60 fps (for now), the bugs (for now), the weak create-a-golfer (unfixable, I presume), and the poor menu system.

I was 23 over in two rounds at Augusta, on sim mode, and for me, that feels about right.

Happening all the times... I started to use the putting line because of it. Quite a game, sim players hate it and arcade players hate it too, it's unplayable for them.
