Re: MLB The Show 23 Bugs, Glitches, Issues Found
Is there a glitch between the batter ratings (contact and power) displayed on screen vs the ratings displayed when pressing up on the d-pad? I’m noticing it’s not matching and not sure which is accurate.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 23 Bugs, Glitches, Issues Found
In manage mode - ps5 - when pitching L2 + X is supposed to be "pitch to batter" which is needed because the AI sometimes orders the user controlled pitcher to pitch around a batter.
This year L2 + X is still is labeled "pitch to batter" but in fact is "pitchout".
Why I don't understand is how this stuff works its way into the game. Worked fine in mlbts 22. Somehow it got changed for the worse. I submitted a bug report.≡Comment

Re: MLB The Show 23 Bugs, Glitches, Issues Found
Can anyone please help me?!?! I have been playing since launch (mostly DD) and have had no issues at all. As of yesterday every time I go to play a game in Ranked seasons it says "connecting to opponent" (like usual) and then always says "Challenge Failed"
Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!Comment

Re: MLB The Show 23 Bugs, Glitches, Issues Found
PS5 - Single player
1. Please disable the blue circle when using auto fielding manual throwing (see last year's game for reference); if possible, please add an option to remove the blue circle all together, would love to be able to try manual fielding and manual throwing with no blue circle, no prompt, no anything helper/icon/notification wise for most optimal clean screen / realistic MLB broadcast style play
2. Please allow the d-pad to be used to see the pitcher's repertoire of pitches (between pitches when pitching) when pitch selection icons are disabled (e.g. clean screen); it's annoying to have to pause the game to see this information interrupting the game flow. (again, see last year's game for reference)
3. When using auto fielding / auto throwing please disable the switch fielder L2 button prompt...if there can be an option to have it not come on with any combo i.e. auto/manual fielding auto/manual throwing as well that would be great
I feel this game is super close to emulating a realistic broadcast MLB presentation if one chose to pitch and bat from a behind the pitcher perspective including options to remove any other things not seen during a real MLB broadcast (just the players, strike zone, and score bug...lol)
Note: I would pay an enormous sum for you guys to to bring back the ability to disable the home run camera as well
Thanks for the consideration.Last edited by brrmikey; 04-14-2023, 10:47 AM.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 23 Bugs, Glitches, Issues Found
PS4 DD Progress Tab Always Blank:
On my PS4 I have noticed that my "Progress" tab after a DD Single Player Mode game (Conquest or Vs CPU) is always blank.
The screen that shows me any earned rewards is fine, as is the parallel XP screen, but there is never anything on the middle tab. I know I am making progress in PXP for a number of players towards various missions/goals in Team Affinity, Topps Now, and other objectives. Aren't those supposed to show up on this tab?Comment

Re: MLB The Show 23 Bugs, Glitches, Issues Found
As with previous editions of The Show, Angel Stadium's roofline is still far too high. It starts about 6 feet above the final row of seats in real life and there shouldn't be much daylight between the last row of seats and the start of the roof.
In The Show, the bottom of the roof always starts about 20 feet above the top row of seats which hurts immersion a bit for Angels fans who have watched a lot of games at The Big A.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 23 Bugs, Glitches, Issues Found
Don’t know if this is a glitch but some games the flags are clearly blowing in the wind but in the pause menu there is no wind speed showing. The game is playing as if wind is affecting the ball though.

Re: MLB The Show 23 Bugs, Glitches, Issues Found
Here's the entire contents on my report to SDS Re: the wind issues. It's bigger than some people may think, but not for the reason they'd expect. And also, there's a workaround-y part for the part people on this board HAVE experienced (which I actually first stumbled onto while recording the video for the bug report....lmao).
Wind is not effective at all on offline Competitive Preset / Wind indicator in pause menu sometimes does not appear (though wind effect still appears to be functioning)
This is a 2-part bug/issue dealing with wind effect in offline games.
Part 1: I've discovered that the Competitive profile preset (and any additional profile created from its template) seems to disable the wind effect in games - there is no wind indicator in the pause screen/game log and the stadium flags are limp. Adjusting the Wind slider mid-game will not change this. Using the Simulation preset or any profile created from that template will allow it to at least seemingly have an effect (though that has its issues too, read part 2 below). I've tested this many times and while there are times when the Sim profile does not have wind either (not every baseball game has wind after all, even leaving domed stadiums out of the equation), I have not yet seen a single case of the wind showing up on any game in the Competitive profile. I can see how this might be considered "by design" because of the Competitive profile being associated with online play and those games not having wind (at least in head-to-head), but I do want to point out that Show 22's Competitive profile did not do this in offline play. Interestingly, changing the options themselves in the Sim profile does not trigger this bug - meaning I could still play the Competitive game style within the Sim profile and the wind would work. My example below of one Comp game and one Sim game obviously can't show the number of times I've checked this, but it's very consistent no matter how many times I do - No wind on the Competitive preset or its derivatives, ever.

Part 2: Even when using the Simulation profile (or a derivative), there are times when the wind indicator does not appear properly on the pause screen. However, you can see the flags blowing in the stadium art and the wind speed in the game log. Further, if you move the wind slider while paused, you can instantly see the effect of that change on the flags when the game is unpaused. And in some cases, like the example I've included links to here, messing with the sliders mid-game will fix the pause screen wind indicator. That doesn't seem 100% reliable though - I was only able to do it a few times while testing this. Therefore I want to believe this is only a visual interface bug, and that the wind is actually affecting those games. However, it's difficult to be absolutely sure this is the case as the effect of wind on the baseball in this game is usually difficult to "see". It may be a stadium-related issue - the indicator shows up fine at Wrigley as many times as I was able to check, but in Atlanta's Truist Park I haven't gotten it to show up (at first) once, which is why I used that as my example. I haven't tested all stadiums in the game to know if it's truly related to certain stadiums.

Both of these occur in the PS4 version as well as PS5 - the only two platforms I am able to test. It also stands to reason that the Casual preset may have some unintended effects as well, however I have not tested that one.Comment
