On May 16, EA SPORTS PGA TOUR will get an update which includes a new course and more. Read on to learn all the details about the update.

The new course Oak Hill Country Club has been added to all game modes. In career mode, the PGA Championship event now alternates between Oak Hill Country Club and Southern Hills every season. Menus, screens, and key art have also been updated to be styled in the Season 2 PGA Championship theme.

Lots of other updates in there, too. Here are a couple big ones:

- As a result of player feedback, improvements have been made to better support playing without the putting grid:

A new low-view camera height option has been added to the zoom camera while putting.
The “Zoom = Off” gameplay setting option has been updated to allow zoom when the golfer is within 70 yards of the pin.
This better represents a pro golfer’s ability to survey greens and ensures that all players can now toggle to this low camera height to manually read greens.



- Updates have been made to cup physics, which result in lip-ins and lip-outs occurring more frequently. Additionally, the follow camera will now sometimes zoom in on the ball when it is close to the hole.

Some very good stuff in here for sure. But...unless I'm missing something, the one major thing I was hoping for doesn't appear to be here--the ability to chose the amount of rounds in career. This is *huge* to me. It's killing the fun of career mode for me. I was really expecting it to be in this release, and the fact that it doesn't appear to be makes me fear greatly that it's not going to happen any time soon, or at all even though they've acknowledged it.

That issue and online turn play and more online modes is all that matters to me. Fix those 2 things. Please.

Yeah, only two career mode updates, outside of the PGA Championship host courses switching between Oak Hill and Southern Hills each year:

Career:

- Fixed AI Pairings so that playing partner in rounds 2 - 4 is not always Scottie Scheffler.
- Banner with golfer tee times is no longer displayed when entering into a playoff.

And the only online play change appears to be this:

In order to improve online matchmaking for all players, Social mode has been removed and Competitive mode has been renamed “Online”.

Seriously disappointed about not being able to chose the amount of rounds. Career mode is dead to me until they fix that. I just can't bear doing it again. And no turn play makes playing 1v1 with a friend a non starter for most.

I'm convinced we will never get online turn play with this cycle. I do think we will eventually get to chose the amount of rounds, because they've acknowledged the issue and have to work through fixing it where it won't break a bunch of other stuff, but the fact we have to wait longer for that *very* basic feature is a dagger.

I love that EA is adding some needed fixes for this game, But surely they haven't giving up on the PC optimizations? This game still needs some work done on that front.

I was expecting to see some tuning in this patch. How about having the rough and sand have some real impact? How about tuning the swing stick on hardest levels to allow for more penalty on poor shots? How about tempo penalties?

We have a thread here dedicated to making the game harder. This is something that is needed and I'm disappointed we aren't seeing any gameplay tuning (unless it is there amd just not talked about in notes).

Well it seems they wont be fixing the broadcast camera...would love to get a proper broadcast like the one we had in TW14. The angles used by the current camera are more similar to a spectator video caught with their phone than something from tv.

I just want to say how much I appreciate those of you who own, play and mostly love this game .... also being honest brokers and critical when it's warranted.

This concerns me that just some content is getting added (appears to be minimal fixing/tweaking?)

Surely they have ample feedback about a large array of things that really need to be addressed in terms of bug fixes, gameplay tweaks, feature additions, etc.

I really really hope they are going to actually do that.

Turn based play will be there in the future, I’m absolutely sure of that.

I just want to say how much I appreciate those of you who own, play and mostly love this game .... also being honest brokers and critical when it's warranted.

This concerns me that just some content is getting added (appears to be minimal fixing/tweaking?)

Surely they have ample feedback about a large array of things that really need to be addressed in terms of bug fixes, gameplay tweaks, feature additions, etc.

I really really hope they are going to actually do that.

The low putting camera has been a pretty widely requested update since the game launched - especially for sim players who don't use putting grids, so they do seem to be aware of what people are asking for and the feedback that's out there.

Likewise, the hole physics were kind of blasted once the game came out. There were basically no lip-outs, from what I could see in all the countless YouTube videos I watched, due to the hole size being wrong. Now, they have updated those physics twice since release, and they showed a video of a lip-out in the patch notes.

I think it all comes down to what they are actually able accomplish, or what the priorities are. For some reason, they can't seem to get 1-3 round events added into career mode at this point. Same thing with turn-based multiplayer, apparently. But it does seem they're aware of these things...we'll see if they're able to get it done, and if they can, how long it will actually take them to do so.

Hopefully the answers to those questions are, yes and not long at all!

Man I'm lucky.

I don't play online so I feel bad for you that do.

I only play full rounds but I feel bad for those that want a better option than quick rounds. I also play with a pro always and that's fixed.

There are still quite a few issues needing to be addressed it if I was to pick 1 thing I was really hoping for it would be putting camera lower for better reads without using beads. Got my wish.

The zoom from 70 feet in thing really is something else I wanted so that's cool.

The only thing really left for me is a functional broadcast camera.

Honestly feel super blessed that my wish list keeps getting items important to me checked off.

Hopefully the online stuff gets fixed soon for others.

Agreed! The 70yd and in zoom view was something unexpected that will make the game much better for those that play on harder difficulty levels. I know I’ve been in bunkers a few times not knowing if I should leave the ball short or if I have room for the ball to run on a green.

I really hope the broadcast camera gets fixed at some point - it feels like it has gotten better over the past month but it feels random on when it works and when it doesn’t.
