Expected, but good to see it become official.

I wonder if they'd change the jersey number of the generic players and make them uneditable?

Great news. This should mean editing/roster share will be allowed right??

Hopefully they do a better job of being less obvious with the generic players. IMO, I would just completely randomize player.

I would just stick to using Player Bios and anavatar that closely resembles player over face scanning.

I don't expect face scans, unless they do like the top players in the nation, but hopefully they have something like FaceGen in the game that can take a picture like what is used on every team's roster page, and can generate a face in engine that is close enough.

If we're stuck with preset faces again in 2024 like we still are with Madden, then that will be hugely disappointing.

I can't imagine any school will opt out with this news, but you never know. It would be easy to negative recruit any school that chooses to not let their players benefit from this opportunity.

I am just happy to see everything moving forward. I imagine that we will see 75-85% of the real players opt in. Even if its less that's enough for me. Im just ready for some virtual college football. I think this rules out us being able to edit the default rosters, though. I can't see EA or the schools/conferences opening themselves up to anymore likeness suits. I think we will be able to create players but not edit the ones on the teams.

You mean not being able to edit due to not all players opting in? Or not being able to edit regardless? I would think if all opted in, then it would/should be like Madden with the NFLPA. We should at least be able to edit ratings/attributes right?

I'm curious as to why you don't expect up to 25% of players to opt in?

I dont think that we will be able to edit the default rosters at all. The real players or the generics. I just don't see EA or the schools allowing us to edit in the likeness of players who opt out. I hope I am wrong, but I see them being really careful. I can see us creating players in like Dynasty mode and adding them that way but even then I don't see us being able to share it.

I just feel like certain dudes will opt out. It may not as high as 25%. But with the money going around Collegiate sports now and egos being what they are, I feel like more than a few people will have an issue with the payout or whatever other reason.

Maybe they lock editing of default players, but I don't see the point in locking things like equipment, numbers and ratings for players that agree to be in the game. It's no different than Madden in that regard. I expect the generic players to be as generic as generic can be. NBA 2K style.

Wasn't the big issue with the old titles, that not only did they replicate the players with everything but their name, but that these rosters were relatively easy to share? You should be able to customize your own individual game the way you want. My guess is no roster share, but we'll get roster updates which will be needed with late season transfer portal moves and late sign-offs by players. Not to mention mid-season attribute updates and depth charts that were never a reality in the past.

Ideally they could update their Gameface app or so, and have it where it can have close resemblance. I still feel that Live 18 had the best face scan app in sports games.

Assuming this game is current gen only, I imagine this year will be the last year as cross gen. I don't see the point of having a current gen exclusive college football game and a cross gen Madden. So, I would imagine/hope that Madden starts to fully take advantage of the current gen consoles. We have been seeing the same preset faces for generations now. So, I would hope that we see Madden start to take that generational leap this year. So far for current gen Madden, the main advantages are visuals and exclusive features over last gen. For me, that isn't a generational leap
