1989-90 season in the books. Finals matchup aligned with real life for second year in a row (Pistons-Blazers). Definite move into a modern era with four expansion teams over past two years. Also, Shawn Kemp.

Question for you guys: What Nikes do you rely on to outfit teams in the 80's and 90's?

The Nike Blazers and Air Force Ones are suitable for a lot of the 80's but as you near the end of the decade, Nikes began developing a busier, 90's-centric vibe and I'm struggle to find solid fillers.

So, any others you guys use aside from those two?

The different adidas shoes added this year helped a little bit. Doing your own colorways of the Jordan I and Nike Dunks can work too.

For Modern Era classic teams, I do use a lot of AF1’s up until ‘95–then I use the Kyrie 3 which is actually extremely versatile because it has a good “white” version and a good “black” version. In the mid 2000s, I use the Hyperdunk 2008 and in the late 2000s I use the Hurache (I have no interest in teams beyond 2010).

I take MJW’s roster and make 2 files: a “Season” file that has teams wearing white shoes in a real life season doing so, and a “Playoff” file that has teams wearing black shoes doing so. I can’t see the 90’s Bulls wearing black shoes unless it’s the postseason.

A ton of Reebok and Adidas - both were booming in the 90's.

They had those 90s converse mids that were perfect too. Not sure why they got rid of them

Much appreciated. I forgot about using the Kyrie 3's and Jordan 1's. I'll need to make some basic colorways for each.

Turned the game on to see specifically what I've used:

Hyperdunk X High (colorway): good for a '90s basic and boxy look

Hyperdunk 2008 (model): okay for some teams that did a white/home and black/away scheme

Kyrie 3 (colorway): great option for '90's shoes

Kyrie 4 (colorway): some mid '90s players wore white shoes with a black tongue area so the first option is a great model

Kyrie 5 (colorway): okay substitute for the Maestros from the early/mid '90s

*For '93 Barkley fans who don't want to create his CB 34 shoe, use the white and purple Kobe I colorway for home and black Kyrie 4 colorway for away

Some of the Lebrons work for 90s shoes. Just a quick edit to make them white/black with whatever team color. I think I used the 7s for air flights. Does the job

Seems another challenge may be coming down the pipe in 2K24.

Man, it would be great if they throw in the 98 all star game like they did with the 88 ASG in the Jordan mode.

As enticing as it looks with Kobe on the cover, I think I'm done.

I can't face another year of having to start from scratch, editing every single facet of the game for months on end, only to finally start playing with around 3 months before the next entry releases.

It's too much. I'll probably stick with 2k23 for the next few years now unless something drastic changes.
