In looking at that video and holding it up to what I've seen in the Beta, that video is on point. I've definitely seen those things. Now it's just a matter of cleaning the finish product and not breaking anything between now and launch. I also feel for some reason that next years Madden will focus on defense. Right now, it's evident, even in Spectator Mode, which is what I do most of, that the offense is far ahead. Hit Everything 2.0 is good and all, but X and O's, defensive concepts wise, the defensive side of the ball is still lacking. The band aid right now will be ramping up the pass rush in my opinion. But, hopefully next year the defensive side of the ball gets the love it truly needs and this will take the game to the next level.

Hopefully some good sliders can help the defense.

This actually looks pretty darn good.

          Ref's confirmed
          Lots of OL love blocking
          Harder to pass slants
          Animations look better

Hopefully they can execute and deliver

They react to the ball well. That's not the issue. What I mean is if you look at how they have expanded the offensive playbooks, upgraded OLine blocking, running back and QB AI...and then look at the defensive side of the ball, they aren't in the same level right now.

CM Hooe can explain it better than me, but zone defense, concepts, pattern matching, etc need serious love. The way they've focused on WR/DB interactions, it's time to show OL/DL interactions some love.

Don't get me wrong, offense is king IRL too, but you have to have modern counters in the game for the modern offense that's played in the game...if that makes sense.

Having not played the beta all this sounds amazing.

Especially the AI stuff. Hopefully the CPU can open up their playbook as well. It feels like they've been calling the same stuff for years in certain situations.

Finally some updates to the players themselves. They've needed a major overhaul for years now. Hopefully it's got a more next gen look to them.

One big thing I hope is fixed is CPU qb pocket awareness. They never step up in the pocket and they react too quickly to defenders shedding off the line. They will either drift back leading to huge sacks or will throw it away. Would like like to see them step up or around pressure.

I wish they had a section of nothing but legacy gameplay issues they fixed. Like zone logic, field and clock awareness, and other general things that have bugged many of us for years.

I hope we can change the undershirt color. It looks like in the footage some Titans players have light blue undershirts on so fingers crossed

Re: Madden NFL 24 Gameplay Deep Dive Blog

Al Quarterback logic has been completely overhauled to make the opposing QB’s play like their real-life counterparts as well as making it a real challenge to compete against.
All Quarterbacks now use Skill Based Passing, but the new Decision Making Trait realistically determines how each QB leverages it
Historically, QB’s only had 3 pass lead points to choose from. Now, there are 12 possible points a QB will evaluate to make the big play..
EX: Lead a seam vertical inside against Cover 3 Drop
EX: Lead an outside streak up the sideline between the flat and safety against Cover 2
Conservative Trait: Will throw to partially covered receivers if it's a Star Wide Receiver, they're down multiple possessions or a receiver who isn't far downfield. They may also throw short of the sticks or check down in 3rd and long situations.
                  Example: Kirk Cousins
Ideal trait: This archetype knows exactly when to try and fit a tight window. Tailored logic for if the WR is in the end zone, they're backed up on their own side of the field, or they are up multiple possessions.
                  Example: Patrick Mahomes
Aggressive Trait: These gunslingers are going to push the ball in ways that haven't been seen before. Just like real life, this also means they might try to force a pass that they shouldn't.
                  Example: Josh Allen
Plus, all QB’s now use the new pathfinding technology covered in the Ball Carrier AI section below for evading pressure and in the open field. This means mobile QB’s like Justin Fields are more true to life than ever before.
Adaptive AI Additions: ‘Alert’ Logic. This is a new concept where if the CPU has a run play called, but the defense has the box loaded, the AI might audible to a Pass in appropriate game scenarios. They may also change to a pass play against a Weak Box.
For players who like to repeatedly call the same play type, you'll see the AI audible against Zone, or Hot Route vs. Man Coverage.
Odds are driven by Awareness rating, Game Difficulty, and Quarter Length.
I will always be for anything that differentiates QB play, these seem like a good step in that direction.

ON the topic of QB's, I wish they would escape more when under durress. Ex. In previous Maddens, if the QB got touched he was most likely down in the pocket. I want them to break a few tackles in the pocket.

Yeah. And the animations they do have take forever so even if you break a tackle as a QB you're still mostly sacked anyway. I did see somewhere that they boosted the break sack rating so that it can happen more often with those qbs who are good at breaking out of sacks.

I'm all for the new blocking logic and it looks great. That logic and pancakes, and those on multiple defenders by one guy will have to be tuned as appropriate in terms of a blocker's ratings, IMO. Great stuff.

There is a lot of good in this years game for sure. So far, I have to say tackling is my favorite part...that and the running game.

Other than the SAPIEN system, which improves the look of the game incredibly I must say, most of this could have been patched into 23.
