Appreciate it. Haven't had the time to put in to it that I did a couple years back but really hoping to get a jumpstart early in 2k24. Ideally 2k keeps adding different versions of guys, and updating others, and less CAPs are needed.

I’ll try to get them posted tonight… for what it’s worth the Mutombo CAP doesn’t look so great in game, I think Webber actually looks better in game but the hair is off. Need to try something else there but that hair looked the best to me in the CAP screen but not on court.Comment

Re: LEGENDS Thread - NBA 2K18 & beyond: (Accessories, jerseys, sig styles etc)
Caught a cool “could have happened” moment.
Decided to start up one last My Eras run before 2k24. I’ve spend most of my time playing with the older eras but wanted to do a new “LeBron” run where the Cavs don’t have horrible luck and horrible roster management. Maybe he gets a ring sooner, maybe he never needs to leave..
For those who remember, Cavs had an awful run of team construction and luck Bron’s first go around. First of all Dejuan Wagner was a bust/career ending injuries. After drafting LeBron there was lots of roster shuffle, all for nothing, and the Cavs willingly backed out of Boozer’s contract for a handshake agreement and he bailed on them for Utah. So basically immediately after getting LeBron they lose their top 2 young pieces that would hypothetically be the future around him..
Cavs land a lottery pick in the next draft and waste it on Luke Jackson. They didn’t have a pick the following year and after that season they were basically “too good” to draft a quality co-star and not good enough to have a REAL shot at winning it all. Ultimately this led to them “going all in” on signing Larry Hughes and Donyell Marshall, and Hughes was never “that guy” to begin with but also never had a healthy postseason run with the Cavs anyways.
My goal going into this was to avoid all that. Not have a finals team with the 2-4th top scorers in the series being Drew Gooden, Boobie Gibson, and Sasha Pavlovic lol. And never swing for the fences on Mo Williams caliber player, or hope to be saved by a declining Antwan Jamison.
Dajuan Wagner I’m having actually play out a career, healthy and not a bust. I don’t have him with the hype he had in HS because it was obvious he wasn’t that, but just a solid rotation piece. Not going to just let Boozer walk. That alone gets me on the right track and I’m hoping I can draft a guy like Jameer Nelson or something in this next draft instead of a waste of a pick and see what happens from there. A couple of the trades I accepted include an extra pick which will make up for not having one in 2005 in the real life scenario.
I didn’t control every team. So there have been some things play out differently. And I do let a lot of the lower level trades go through. I had to trade up for the first pick to get Bron, and I’ve accepted a few trades along the way. Oddly ended up being trades for guys they already get anyways. Eric Snow (earlier and before he was washed), Donyell Marshall, and Flip Murray. Team is actually already pretty solid, probably going to be a playoff team in Bron’s rookie year.
Caught this cool moment in the posted pictures, Jordan didn’t retire. Which wasn’t something I expected and he and Bron got their moment in the league. Wizards were actually who drafted Bosh and have a solid group Hughes-Stack-MJ-Bosh-Haywood.. They played like ***, unfortunately MJ was awful, so I beat them handily but still got a cool moment with Bron and MJ after the game.
Not sure this qualifies for “Legends” material being so recent but Bron and MJ getting a moment was too cool to pass up on posting.Comment

Re: LEGENDS Thread - NBA 2K18 & beyond: (Accessories, jerseys, sig styles etc)
This is awesome.
I've been pretty excited about that 2002 Era but I've also been really into going through the eras chronologically so I'm still a ways off. That's a great moment there; I'm pretty sure letting Jordan play into 2004 would be a variant I'd be more than willing to indulge.
That said, since I just got to 1991-92 a little bit ago, I decided to pause things for a short bit to wait and see what 2K24 is bringing to the table. If they've made any improvements to the Eras mode (or if they've implemented key gameplay improvements or signature styles), I may just wait for that release before diving all the way in to the Jordan Era.
Either way, I still think this is one of the greatest offline sports modes I've ever seen, and likely the most ambitious.Comment

Just look at MJ how scrawny and hunched back he looks, not even mentioning the horrifying jerseys comparing it to recent games before next-gen. the art team over there are just patheticComment

man no disrespect but all I can see in this pic is how terrible the body types are in this game...

Yeah older MJ doesn’t have his own body type or face from the younger versions. The hunched over look is just a weird animation they were locked in to after the game. They were leaning in for a hug. It’s not like he’s walking around all game long hunched over like that lol. Screenshots themselves would look a lot better with some era appropriate uniforms too.Comment

I’ve been starting up different scenarios and playing them out for a couple years and then starting new ones once they get a little too “weird” and far from reality lol. I’ve haven’t done a deep dive into these modes in terms of controlling every team, trade, etc.. Haven’t really had the time, probably jump into something like that in 2k24 though and play the long game. I’ve played in this era twice, once trying to build a better team around T-Mac than Orlando was able to build, and now a similar concept with drafting LeBron.
I did end up making the playoffs his rookie year. The team is actually probably as good or better than his actual 2007 finals team aside from Bron himself not being as great yet. Main rotation is currently Snow-Murray-LeBron-Boozer-Big Z - with key bench players being Marshall, Wagner, Arroyo, MacCulloch. Hughes is better than all those guys but was always hurt in the playoffs anyways. Boozer is actually the only double-digit rebounding teammate LeBron had in that run (or Miami too) and I feel like keeping him will cover a lot of roster flaws the real teams had.
Somehow ended up playing the Hornets in the first round and they are awful. Simmed a sweep. Not quite sure how they are even a playoff team but the East is so weak. One thing I did forget is adding some missing players before I started. I might add guys like Webber, Sheed, Prince in the off-season and just treat it like they were all hurt in 2003-04 lol.. East is pretty poor without that good Pistons squad honestly. Nets team is good, Orlando added J O’Neal and they were really solid as well.
Faced Orlando in the 2nd round. They actually ended up making the finals and eventually losing to the Lakers. I played the first game in that series and simmed the rest to end up losing in 7. That game I played was the most bizarre game of 2k I’ve ever played. Felt like I was playing an actual person online who’s goal was to just spam T-Mac. Had a 1960s type of pace to the game, and I’ve never played a game on any 2k where the AI just tried to basically beat me with one player like that. They didn’t run much of an offense.
Probably the fasted pace 2k game I’ve ever played against the AI. I can only remember once instance of them burning any of the shot clock. I play 6 minutes and sim stats to 12, but if you see the screen below T-Mac easily broke the playoff scoring and FG made record. In hindsight maybe I should have sent doubles and stuff at him to preserve the record, but if I’m being honest the constant gunning from him made the game pretty easy for me to win. So I just let him torch guys in single coverage. No matter who you are or how hot you get you can only connect on so many contested looks, he took 60+ shots [emoji23].
As far as building around LeBron I’m leaning towards maybe trying to draft a guy like Jameer Nelson to eventually replace Snow, or move up if I can and maybe get a guy like Iguodala. I think in “real life” terms Dajuan Wagner actually panning out, keeping Boozer, and not drafting Luke Jackson could have really made a huge difference in that first LeBron stint. Sorta seeing that play out, Iggy’s two-way value would be a huge boost.
Also random annoyance but might have to change Dajuan Wagner’s name to “Wagoner” as the game recognizes his last name as “Vog-ner” like Mo and Franz and hearing him called that in action is a little annoying.

As an aside, I notice the 2004 Cavaliers don't have their original court by default. I'm sure someone cooked it up on 2KShare though, so should be an easy fix.Comment

LEGENDS Thread - NBA 2K18 & beyond: (Accessories, jerseys, sig styles etc)
Yes lol it would..
In my experience the three point attempts (and free throws) are the numbers that can get the most skewed when doing the “sim to 12 minutes”.. I was able to maintain a comfortable lead in this game but it was still a “close” game throughout. That led to lots of desperation threes late, and since everything is doubled taking 4-5 threes in the last 2-3 minutes of a game out of desperation end up being 8-10 threes on an after game box score. Late game fouling gets weird like that too.
Same for Flip Murray. I think he was 8/20 from three in this game after the sim stats corrected it to 12 minutes.. but the reality is if I truly played those missing minutes he likely would have spent large portions of that on the bench and not launching an extra 10 attempts throughout the game. Most his attempts came early as well, they started the game sending doubles at LeBron and to the post. He was wide open. So in reality he “made” 4 threes while I was playing, 3 of those being in the first few minutes. He would have never hoisted up 20 attempts if the game truly progressed. Another issue with the sim-adjusted numbers, a dedicated spot up shooter gets a little hot streak where he connects on 2-3 in a row over the span of a minute or two and after the game it’s adjusted to him having a Steph Curry night from three. Any full-court or half-court heave turns into 2 attempts as well. Just another weird example.
LeBron is a good example here too. He ended with 30/12/14 but I think I had 4 points with him at the half. They had a no-name rookie starting at center and I was targeting him inside with whichever big he was on, and pulling him into high screen and rolls which opened up some of those Murray threes.. Had a better 2nd half with LeBron scoring wise but I know he had 6 pints really late. 2 at the rim when they were in full desperation mode, and a fade he had no business making on a possessing I had drained all the shot clock. That 6 points in late game situation would have still been 6 points in a full game regardless of how the rest of the game played out, but in the sim-to-12 scenario that’s 12 points. Nearly half his game total.
Definitely some weird scenarios in doing that, but rarely do I actually play 48 minute games and I don’t want “great games” to be 15/4/4 on the box score either. The T-Mac stuff definitely felt like a 50+ shot pace overall though. I’ve never played a game like that where the AI felt like I had matched with a kid online who just wanted to advance the ball as quickly as possible and launch the first shot he could with the best player. Tempo of the game was ridiculous, was like 30 points difference in the scores of that game vs the Wizards game per 12minutes normalized stats lol.
Good eye on the court, I hadn’t even paid that much attention. I also haven’t updated the shoes/accessories either. If I stick with this for some extended time after this next off-season I’ll probably put some effort into doing a big edit just all around. Lots of unnamed players and rookies, will probably start correcting a lot of those at some point as well.Last edited by ojandpizza; 08-11-2023, 11:45 PM.Comment

From an early livestream I found it looks like we've gotten a few players back into the game/in offline modes
Luol Deng: In Lebron Era
Jose Calderon: In Lebron Era
Emeka Okafor: Lebron Era/Returning to 2k
Devin Harris: Lebron Era/Returning to 2K
these are the ones I saw at least I know they said Webber and B-Roy are back in but didn't see those when the guy scrolled through the teams perhaps they're in a day 1 patch but very exciting for 2000's/early 2010's fans!Comment
