The unknown byte at 0x004=004 (which can only be accessed by pressing the D key on a player, which opens up the DB Viewer, then clicking on "Birthplace") refers to a player's birth country.
This means that I could learn which countries are at which IDs in order to change the birth countries of players that need it.
Here are the bytes I have seen, and which countries they refer to:
0x01=1 is Austria
0x02=2 is Belarus
0x03=3 is Canada
0x04=4 is China
0x05=5 is Czechia
0x06=6 is England
0x07=7 is Finland
0x08=8 is France
0x09=9 is Germany
0x0A=10 is Greece
0x0B=11 is Ireland
0x0C=12 is Italy
0x00=13 is Japan
0x0E=14 is Kazakhstan
0x0F=15 is North Korea
0x10=16 is South Korea
0x11=17 is Latvia
0x12=18 is Lithuania
0x13=19 is Norway
0x14=20 is Nigeria
0x15=21 is Poland
0x16=22 is Russia
0x17=23 is Scotland
0x18=24 is Slovakia
0x19=25 is South Africa
0x1A=26 is Sweden
0x1B=27 is Switzerland
0x1C=28 is Ukraine
0x1D=29 is the US
0x1E=30 is Yugoslavia
And 0x00=0 is None
Which also means that my NHL All Stars 2000 mod can, in fact, have the World vs North America selected in season mode.
Now that I have acquired this knowledge, not only am I going to do my best to use it to my advantage, but I am sharing it with you guys, in case you want to make mods for older NHL games from the late 1990s and early 2000s.
