It's broken. Holding off on buying the game until it's fixed. No word from EA on it. Concerned they aren't prioritizing it and may not fix until January or not at all.

Unless they patch it in, HFA can only be turned off in Franchise and Superstar Modes...if/whenever it's patched to work correctly.

Since I couldn’t turn it off I played the old gen version of Madden 24 and it was quite fun. No meter on old gen and it plays like a different game.

there is no reason why the pc version cant be patched now, no need to wait for microsoft or sony.

Unpopular opinion here, but I like the momentum meter for the most part. I think it's toned down from last year. Maybe can go just a bit further, but I can live with it.

You can practically ignore it entirely and hardly anything changes. It’s literally you look up and say “Huh, Ok” and proceed doing exactly what you’d have done anyway.

Guys literally getting anxiety seeing “home team accelerates slightly faster” like it’s gonna win or lose them the drive.

Take a breath, make a good playcall, execute the play on time and in rhythm. I don’t care even a little bit where the momentum meter is.

Dudes crying that this feature is game-breaking are out their damn minds. Stuff is +3 here and -3 there. If you think an OL getting a +3 is making or breaking your game I’ve got a bridge in China to sell you.
              Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.

                Re: Momentum

Home-field advantage is garbage. The Chiefs shouldn't go up by 7-0 late in the first quarter and then my kicker gets iced for extra points and field goals. One of the problems is some are overpowered while others are useless like the ones the Bears have. Secondly as has been discussed in different threads and many videos produced there is no real rhyme or reason as to how momentum gets swung. Like I said KC goes up seven my kicker is iced. I immediately answer with a touchdown scoring drive, my kicker still iced.

I'll buy. It may be toned down more this year, but there is factual evidence from last year that when the User or AI opponent got HFA in their favor, it caused the AI QB to go braindead...dropping back endlessly, throwing ridiculous picks. That was definitely an issue. If it's better this year then great. But, they put the ability to toggle it On/Off there for a purpose. Hopefully it'll begin working as intended soon. As far as that propeyin China, I got $5 on it.

This AND the game could be down to $30 or less then so why not wait.

Me personally, I don't want them to completely remove HFA from the game. It's an essential part of football & needs to be there. The issue is they need to tune it & make it less overpowering. There definitely needs to be an option to turn it off in Franchise & Play Now. This should've been optional from Day 1.

What I can't stand about HFA is all the presnap text pop ups cluttering my screen! That stuff kills immersion & constantly reminds me that I'm playing a video game. I wish they would give us an option to have HFA on but toggle off the presnap pop ups in Visual Settings.

I hate it for two reasons:

                        1. I play offense only, so when my team is on defense I never gain momentum, so I have to swing it in my favor exclusively on offense, which means I’m playing from “behind” most drives.

                        2. Some of the “abilities” that are gained are so ridiculously stupid. Opposite team can see your primary route on passing plays? What?! I’m fine with some of them, but please make it make sense, OR, allow us to choose which abilities are available.

I like the idea in theory, and I appreciate the M factor, or whatever the stadium-specific HFA one is, but the momentum meter is geared so much towards head-to-head comp mode it’s silly.

JK - I suspect that there are visual settings available that could fix this for you. I’m not seeing any of this and obviously I have HFA on seeing as how it cannot be turned off at the moment.

Check out Armor and Sword’s settings in the slider forum; he’s a big clean screen guy.

EDIT: JK - I just started another game and now I see what you’re talking about. For some reason I thought that your beef was with play art things but the text box that says stuff like “icy veins” must be it. Sorry about that…

Seeing your "professional" QB forget what play was called when he to the line of scrimmage because the opposing team just scored a touchdown is game breaking for some people (among some of the other more silly momentum advantages gained in this supposedly "simulation" football game). Glad you're enjoying the game though.

Yeah unfortunately there's no option to turn off all the M Factor text pop ups presnap. I'm referring to when you press R2 presnap to view your play art.. I don't want a bunch of text popping up telling me what M Factors are in play. I would prefer if Momentum just played out naturally. There needs to be an option to turn this stuff off.
