I wish we could Manually jump Offsides

I spend most of my time playing defense along the d-line. there are so many times I get trigger happy and try to rush in before the ball is snapped with the RT.

Would be awesome if you could get caught jumping offsides.

I'm not sure it's even possible in madden, or am I missing something?

It used to be a thing when you could use the jump the snap mechanic but it got removed. I think if you hit sprint he'll jump a bit but I don't know if it'll make you go offside. The only negative to it is if you mistime it and the offense snaps the ball you'll get a delayed get off as a pass rusher.

It's been rumored that it was removed years ago due to the Comp crowd complaining about it for Online matches.

We used to have the "Jump the Snap" feature where you would press R2 to jump the snap if you timed it right. This was a great feature & I loved using it. If they were so concerned about it for Online matches, they could've just removed it for Online but left it optional for Offline. There have been so many simulation features that have been removed from Madden over the years..

you didn't mention what system you are on but you can definitely jump offsides and get called for a penalty playing on the defensive line. In fact I have jumped over the line and the lineman scrambled back just before the ball was hiked to avoid a penalty.

I'm on PC and also have XSX. What is the method for jumping?

I squeeze the right trigger and move the left analog stick down on xbox one. My goal of course is time that with the ball being hiked but it has definitely caused me to take a few penalties.

Forgot to mention that doing this doesn't automatically trigger the early jump all the time, It seems to be random or something that I have to time just right.

You're speaking of moving your player offsides to get the flag. The jump feature allowed you to press the r2/rt bumper and get off quick or get flagged. If you move the joystick down you will continue to move toward the bottom of the screen on any defensive position.

I see what you are saying. Somehow what I do pre-snap triggers the jump. The key seems to be the left analog moving down. When it triggers I take my hand off of the analog and the player tries to move back behind the line. Could this just be another way to do it, without r2/rt? I wasn't purposely trying to cause the penalty but definitely trying to time my push with the snap. When I time it right, I get a good burst to disrupt the play, sometimes by sacking the qb or tackling the rb for a loss. My actions sometimes cause a flag or a perfect release to get past the center and the guard sometimes untouched.

That could be a solution and whenever your player runs anywhere out of position, when you switch off of them they try and run back to their designated preplay spot. I have experienced the delay before so I would assume the left stick down could be the counter to getting off early if timed right idk. I'm slow sim everything atp until gameplay makes more football sense for my liking.

I have just started seeing offsides in Franchise mode, both me and the CPU.
