I also don't have the game (or new-gen) and haven't watched much footage until now, but watching some 2K24 footage tonight I'm disappointed at how choppy it looks animation-wise. I'm assuming that this issue is new this year (and maybe to an extent last year) as a shortcoming of ProPLAY?
I've seen some people say they're seeing more glitchy dribbling this year (particularly the ball not actually dribbling down when it should, having the appearance of a glitched-out travel), and dribbling is where I'm mostly seeing it too. Like, in that KD clip, when he takes that pull-up at ~0:20, what's with the dribble right before he goes into his shooting motion? There's another one like that around 1:10 where you can even see it in slow motion in replays. The ball warps right out of his hand without him even dribbling it downward.
In the unedited gameplay footage I've watched as well (i.e., YouTube videos of people simply playing the game) this stuff is all over the place, like every play or every other play. I didn't even come into this thread expecting to see this KD video, and it's there too.
As someone who has been hoping for new-gen on PC, this is really disappointing to me, as I'd heard that the big thing old-gen has been missing out on is the smoothness of new-gen, yet this looks way choppier / uglier (I also just watched a quarter of old-gen CPU v. CPU to make sure I wasn't losing my mind, and there was virtually no glitching of this sort).
Can anyone say if it was like this on 2K22 new-gen (i.e., totally pre-ProPLAY)? My guess is that these are growing pains of ProPLAY, a combination of clunky chaining of ProPLAY animations and perhaps ProPLAY captures not being interpreted correctly in terms of their physics, particularly in terms of interaction with the ball.
