    Admission of Being Wrong

I've been loud about how inaccurate passing seems to be, and blamed the game on All-Madden for being weird.

But I am a journalist in real life. And one of the core tenets of journalism is admitting when you got things wrong.

I didn't realize I was playing on Placement + Accuracy rather than classic controls. So all of my horribly off target passes can be attributed to me just playing badly with the new systems.

So I was wrong, and I apologize.

Hey man, nothing wrong with being wrong sometimes. Glad you figured it out and can enjoy the game more now.

I've been playing Classic passing (previously used accuracy) and I've been amazed that for the first time in years there's a clear difference between good and bad QBs.

Prime example of why we shouldn't scream from the rooftops that "THE GAME IS BROKEN"

In society and video games, it's why we can't have nice things.

Thanks for fessing up, but who knows, maybe the damage is already done...

          This isn’t fair.

Kudos to OP, he didn’t have to say anything at all and no one would have noticed. I don’t like the idea of making this out to be anything but a positive.

Same - my admission / review is in the impressions thread, and I always use Classic passing. I'm just old school and want as few buttons as possible, haha.

He didn't do this. He was active in a few threads but always engaged in discussion about the trouble he was having. It wasn't the typical agenda posting.

There's no damage. I guarantee absolutely nobody made any decisions about the game based on his posts.

How are you getting along now with classic controls? And who knows, may be you'll decide to return to Placement + Accuracy in the future.

My current QB is not as good as my last one (I started a new franchise when the week 1 rosters came out), so I'm still seeing some inaccurate passes, but he has a lot lower stats so it makes sense. Still passing WAY better than I was.

I feel like the aiming controls are better suited for multiplayer, where you need that edge against the other player's adjustments. But against the CPU it isn't nearly as important.

I made this thread because I don't want people to assume something is wrong as a result of my posts. OS is a good source for players wondering about bugs and glitches since people on here will definitely point them out, and I didn't to cause confusion because of my mistake.

Transparency is definitely the best policy; so you did the right thing here in posting this mea culpa.

I think it is a VERY good reminder to all of us that if your experience seems to be radically different than everyone else's, check your settings and make sure something is not amiss. I know I've done that so many times where I've gone, "WTF is going on here?" only to realize that I had mis-entered a slider setting or something.

The game is good IMO. Again, its the lack of penalties that I want fixed. We all have our issues with Madden but it's far from a bad game.

People admitting when they are wrong is something that has truly gotten lost in our society. It's takes humility to do that. Kudos to you for that.
