Off-Season Roster
Hello, I wanted to get started on updating rosters for the off-season. Which is the best base to do this? Preferably one that has the most faces updated, Legends replaced, etc.Tags: None -
Re: Off-Season Roster
yeah this is something I like to work on and release by Xmas time each year.
adding in service time is time consuming but I am not even sure it is worth it because the player needs stats to kill the rookie status and you can't export NON CAPs to do that trick.
But when the season ends at the end of October I will no doubt start working on that stuff and moving free agents and swapping for open slots.
as for a Base? well I guess just the usual full Minors from Sep 1st I will use. and it still has Wander Franco in it pending what the hell is gonna happen there. -

Yeah, I'm not even going as far as to touch service time. Mine will mostly be "you can DL it and play exhibition games with updated moves" or hop into a season if you want. For long-term franchise play, probably not the set to use.yeah this is something I like to work on and release by Xmas time each year.

Re: Off-Season Roster
I haven't been able to get to this yet (and Spider-Man 2 coming out on Friday doesn't help), but you're probably safe releasing guys that are going to be free agents on Playoff teams as well.
I'm working on getting a list of guys who have announced their retirement that are in the game so I can overwrite them with a blank player space. So far all I have is, off the top of my head,:Trevor May, Miguel Cabrera, and Adam Wainwright lol I haven't really gone through the free agents to see if there are older guys who have confirmed they are retiring during the year.Comment

Re: Off-Season Roster
My work has begun
Using c2 of Southsidecrodters as. Base and it still has players SDS decided to delete later on so it’s the best
First step moving free agents for the stupid legends which is gonna overwrite with empty slot overall of 1 guys
Step 2 edit service time
Step 3 make any off season moves as they come
Step 4 is to replace snort slot guys with free agents the biggest pain in the *** of all with this old out of date stale roster system.Comment

I kinda started moving players too using the last Ridin Rosters as the base.My work has begun

Here's a nice tip: start on the teams like the Boomers and Beasts (and forgot the third). There are some players that are duplicate or should be added to other teams, which makes it easier to move some MLB players to free agency. Also, on the Beasts, there are guys in the roster set like Yoenis Cespedes, Danny Valencia, a 45-year old pitcher with Israel who are probably safe to overwrite.
Using the Retired Player List above, I was only able to remove maybe a handul of guys, along with Miguel Cabrera, Wainwright and now Ian Kennedy.
It's difficult to figure out who else should be removed but there might be a couple other good options. In free agency, I know there was a 17-year old international player (on my ChiSox real life) who was listed as 18 who I figured was fair to overwrite. Just kinda have to make judgement calls like that. Another example was a Taylor Davis (I think his name was?) who is a 33 year old catcher who didn't even sign a minor league deal the past season. Safe to say a guy like that is done or would not be missed from a roster set if he did sign somewhere.Last edited by soxfanbs91; 11-03-2023, 04:34 PM.Comment

Re: Off-Season Roster
Yeah well their is a stack of Legends in the free agents too so they will come in handy to be overwritten once all the legends are gone from free agents I will move to the beats etc. I am not even gonna bother with lineups and rotations till some moves actually happen. so that will be a quick auto. gonna take quite some time and more and more players are becoming free agents in recent days to.I kinda started moving players too using the last Ridin Rosters as the base.

Re: Off-Season Roster
I’ve got free agents moved around but now the major pain part is making the moves that’s happened
Beeks for example to Rockies but they have no slots left to swap with a rays player..
I guess I’ll have to swap with a class A player and take note who it is and import over it with Empty slot and whenever Rockies get slots back move him back ectComment

Re: Off-Season Roster
dumb question but, I'm assuming this roster is for Show 23 correct?I am the way
I am the light
I am the dark inside the night.
I hear your hopes
I feel your dreams
And in the dark I hear your screams
Don't turn away, Just take my hand
I'll never leave, All I ask of you, Is Believe.
Believe
