    Re: TNK NHL24 SLIDERS

As I begin tweaking the sliders, my initial focus will be on making some adjustments to the SKATING sliders and getting things to feel right

Once I have the flow/feel in a place where I like it....then I will focus on sliders that could impact things statistically

I am confident that we will be able to produce good hockey games with these and hopefully have them ready for franchise play within a week or so

Another season of NHL and I really like this years game. The only change I've made to your awesome sliders, you never miss, is the Speed Slider. I have it at 0. I have always put EA's hockey titles speed slider to 0. It maybe to slow for others, but i feel at higher speeds it feels arcadie to me. I know hockey is a very fast game in real life, however I think it plays better at a slower speed and it also looks better.

      Your sliders are amazing...as usual.
I am the lesson after the fall.

Thanks buddy.....appreciate it and I'm glad you like the sliders

I have always been a game speed on 1 or 0 player as well. The game definitely feels too arcadey at higher speeds and you can play no longer than a 6 to 8 minute period without having 50-70 shots per team at that speed.

At the lower game speed, you are able to play 12 to 15 minute periods and get shots per team in the 25-45 range with the occasional game where a team has 18 shots and the occasional game where a team generates 50 shots....just like real life NHL

The other part about the lower game speed and longer periods is that you get a much more realistic number of shifts. When forced to play short periods, your lines get maybe 3 shifts in a period.....kills the realism

I'm going to start posting game results, box score, highlights in the next day or two (hopefully)

I'm trying to finish my season on Madden before going all in on NHL....I am in the playoffs now and don't want to abandon what has been a fun season on franchise in Madden for me. Once I really dive in on NHL, that will be pretty much the only thing I play until MLB The Show comes out in March / April

I use a guy named Matt10 slider set for the past 4 or 5 years and his sliders are always excellent

I do my own sliders for MLB The Show and NHL, those are the two games I enjoy the most and have always had a knack for making good sliders for those two games

                Re: TNK NHL24 SLIDERS

Here are a few video clips so that you can get a sense of the speed/flow of the gameplay.....not much to see here in the videos as far as highlights, goals, etc.

Just simply trying to find the right balance of speed / flow / fluid skating / hitting

Still need to fine tune, but it's starting to feel right and we are getting close....I'll post the updated sliders in post #1 of the thread

For The Show and NHL, I've been using yours for so long, I have stopped looking at other sets. No disrespect to the other guys, especially Fiddy and Amour, they make great sets as well. I just found that when I made my own, they were the closest to yours and you use 1 or 0 for NHL. Helps stop the slideritest.

So, EA should send you a referral check or something, because I was dead set about not buying until I played with your sliders. But who would have thought that the sweet spot between a dialed up pro setting and a vanilla all-star setting was superstar.

I’ll probably have to tweak a little to my playing style, but the first game was the best NHL game I’ve played in a long while. Rarely does the CPU have more zone time and shots than me. I actually had to ice the puck several times, I don’t think I ever did that outside of penalty killing. LOL

This included a couple empty net goals at the end, so otherwise super close.

Some very subtle tweaks in post #1 of the thread.....we are getting very close!

I am going to play a game right now Boston Bruins (Me) @ Minnesota Wild (CPU) and will follow with box score, highlights, etc.

Have always used buttons for passing and shooting. Was thinking of trying these since it has manual passing off and I really struggle with the passing and shooting. How does it work though? Are all the passes one speed ? Tape to tape? I guess I don’t want it to be too easy to pass.
